First of all, my heart felt condolences to all those affected by the massacre that took place at the weekend. I am glad to read about the strength and solidarity being displayed by the people of Sutherland Springs.
I wonder how long we are going to experience or hear about this type of atrocity. Surely something has to change with regards to the gun laws and/or the gun controls. This was yet another example of a person who was either mentally unstable or who had a criminal record, obtaining a licence to own firearms.
I understand that it is part of the American Constitution to be able to own firearms to protect yourself or your property. However, obviously the system is not working, as the number of these atrocities is increasing. Obviously just one of these tragedies, is one too many.
It is clear to me that the necessary drastic changes will not happen, due to the evil of greed. The amount of money that is made in the gun industry is so vast, that the people in control of this industry will not allow any drastic changes to be made that will bring down their industry. I became acutely aware of this, in the aftermath of the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in 2012. I was astonished at the reaction from the National Rifle Association and all the pro-gun advocates. To me, they made their voices heard a lot louder, than those opposed to guns.
I think it is a sad indictment on the human race that so many seem to be in favour of violent resolution, instead of peaceful resolution. I am a positive minded person, however I feel it necessary to state that, unfortunately, we as the human race, are on a path of self-destruction. The times that we are living in, have been predicted and are stated in the Bible.
On a positive note, there is a forever, and that forever will provide an everlasting peace and love and all the wonderful things that the Bible promises.
2 Timothy 3:1
This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
"And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life and some to shame and everlasting contempt."
