Caution: Teachers. Doctors. Nurses: Are you giving your heart and soul to your profession?

Have you committed a large chunk of your working life to a career helping society?

And despite all that….you’re still being undervalued & unappreciated?

I've been teaching over 20 years and I'm seeing significant fallout from my colleagues. I believe other professions like nurses and doctors are feeling similar.

I absolutely believe we are all being failed by an education system that is broken.

So, whats wrong with teaching right now....?

• Why the hell are teachers leaving full time positions and opting for relief work?

• Why do Radio, TV and news, say teachers aren’t good enough?

  Political decisions override those of trained professionals.

• National Standards is failing to deliver what it promised: It fails to lift achievement, and it fails to give parents better information about their childs progress. Despite teachers concerns that it would fail, it was introduced into teaching practice by the Government.

• 

• Why are cuts in funding leaving schools struggling to provide basic tools and resources.

• Government funding for NZ primary schooling is more than $1500 per child below the OECD average. 

• When schools toss between employing staff or building repairs, somethings wrong. Many teachers spend their own money on students and on class materials. Are we "third world" here?

• When there is simply no time apart from the evenings or weekends to get through the workload...what the hell is happening?

  Yet, teachers believe people from the wider community don't understand teachers’ ‘official’ hours of work and holidays."

• Teachers get paid well though, right? No. OECD's data reveal NZ primary teachers are 10th worst paid out of 35 countries ?

And, it's not just teachers in New Zealand but teachers in other countries too.

Whole heaps constant pressure from the community, the Government and society is placed on the professions, on top of doing what’s best for the children.

Negativity has effects. It can become toxic and make every day unbearable. Is it worth it? How much does our self-worth cost? When things reach breaking point, its a no-brainer, somethings gotta give. 

You and I are worth more. There's something wrong and I’ve had enough. 

I absolutely believe we are all being failed by an education system that is broken.

I now am setting up my own business that will create a life of travel, freedom, family and friends. While I'm training I’ll be earning. I get the most wrap-around support from top marketers, entrepreneurs and colleagues who sare working through this together.

One day I will leave my day job and I will have created a self-sustained income. No more 9-5. I can work from home, or anywhere I happen to be as long as I have my computer and the internet.

Now I will have control over where and when and how hard I work.
