Wow! Talk about a tall order! "Live a life worthy of your calling"
How does one even recognise their calling, let alone live a life worthy of it? Fabienne Fredrickson says it like this "The things you are passionate about are not random, they are your calling". Vincent van Gogh had this to say on the matter "Your profession is not what brings home your paycheck. Your profession is what you were put on Earth to do with such passion and intensity that it comes spiritual in calling."
Those words open up the options substantially. I know animal activists, some so passionate that they lose their love for people. I know men and women compelled to protect the young amongst us, again so passionate that they may confuse protection and isolation. Military men and women who lose sight of what's right and wrong through PSTD.
Call me a dreamer, or perhaps an optimist but I believe we are all placed on this Earth for a calling far higher than we can imagine!
What is a calling? How do we know if or to what we have been called? This is the exciting part, something you cannot miss, something you know, you recognise, as Opera Winfrey says "Your Ah Ha Moment"!
What makes your blood boil, your heart race or break, the butterflies flit around in your belly, or bile rise in your throat - these are the signs that you are honing in on your calling! Is it the sight of women, men or children in distress? Is it the sound of sirens as they race past in the traffic? Is it the beauty of carefree children dancing in the sunlight? Your calling neednt be a negative situation, it may be the glint of a dragonfly's wings in the sunlight - attracting you to study and spread the beautiful truth about their species.
My calling has to do with people in need, particularly children, though not restricted purely to the young. My heart breaks when I hear of hunger, deprivation, destitution.
Whatever your calling is, that which makes your blood boil, heart race or break, we all need two things available to us which will enable us to pursue that calling - time and money - and courage too! This is where the rubber meets the road, what would you do if time and money were not an obstacle?
My research has revealed that the digital economy is worthy of time and serious consideration.
