First Steps Never Give Up: You Are Born for Financial Success
First steps never give up. If a baby pays attention to the pain of falling down time after time, they would quit and never experience the freedom of walking. They get back up again and again because something inside tells them to. If you want financial freedom, then it takes more than getting back up after falling down. It takes the mind-set of a child to keep trying. Children are born to walk and know it. You are born for financial success. Do you know it?
Never again allow the pain of failure to take root. Get your “get-back-up” attitude back on. Find the ‘you’ in the thing you started and you will always get back on your feet after falling.
The most lucrative businesses and the greatest inventions began as great ideas. Any successful idea reaches an epic moment of decision. The idea, at some point, requires a risk outside of the entrepreneur’s comfort zone. A crucial point occurs when reasoning must be set aside and action steps, sometimes irrational, have to be taken.
Early stages of success are like learning how to walk.
Bumps and bruises from falling down
are transforming attributes,
NOT setbacks.
Let Go to Gain Confidence
Baby’s learn how to walk by paying attention to internal and external cues. When learning how to walk, if a baby holds something, be it the edge of a coffee table, the side of bed, or a sturdy finger, then she can get around reasonably well. But in the first few hundred attempts of letting go, things change. Muscles tense up. Focus shifts downward. Overcorrection oscillates beyond control and two things happen. She either falls down or quickly grabs onto something.
Letting go is scary but necessary.
Intrinsically, the baby knows that it is born to walk so she tries again, and again, and again. Thousands of signals, or clues, are being processed every time she lets go. Balance is eventually discovered through constant practice of recognizing the clues and knowing how to respond.
Each step minimizes the time and energy required to process the clues. Gravity and weight and movement and surface texture and visual reference all become evident, narrowing the window of correction with every attempt to walk. With each micro-improvement, her muscles relax a bit and her focus expands to more objects and to distant locations. She gains comfort with standing still and balancing before gaining the confidence to venture a step.
Are you starting to see the connection?
The child becomes aware of what to do because...
- she knows she was born to walk,
- because she heeds the internal and external balance clues,
- and because she keeps trying.
Take any of these away and the child will never learn how to walk. If she keeps trying but ignores the clues then she will not have one successful attempt to stand on her own. If she heeds the clues but never attempts to take a step, then she will never learn the freedom of walking on her own. And, if she is not convinced that she is born to walk extremely well, then she may never try, and the clues won’t even matter.
Where are you in your steps?
Are you studying clues over and over again, applying yourself to research, testimonials and networking, without taking any steps yourself?
Or perhaps you are trying over and over again without even knowing what causes you to fall down.
Or quite possibly you have fallen so hard that you question whether or not you even have what it takes to succeed.
The walking baby identifies with walking. Her desire to walk was born from within her being. She was made to walk. Nothing could prevent her success from walking extremely well. It is no different for you or me.
Confidence comes from letting go, balancing, and taking a step
First Step Pause
There is a moment of pause for every walking baby when they let go of whatever it is they are holding onto for balance. Holding something for balance is good and natural, but no doubt temporary. Letting go is scary but necessary.
This is a crucial moment for a child. It is easy to notice when a child is about to take a step. They let go and hold still. You know it’s coming. You can feel it. That child believes so much that the act of walking is going to happen for her that she is willing to risk another great collapse by stepping out. But she pauses before the step. She collects all the new information to process but she relies exclusively, 100%, on her belief that SHE WILL WALK.
In that paused moment before the step she does not calculate her experience or her circumstances. Throw a hundred toys around her and she will still stand, pause, and take a step. Put her on a fluffy bed and she will still stand, pause, and take a step. Put her on rocky hillside and she will still stand, pause, and take a step. She ignores her experiences. She ignores her circumstances. She stands, pauses, then takes a step because she believes that she will be a successful walker no matter what. She believes that this moment might be the very moment when she will walk forever more.
Final Thoughts
She takes a step because she believes.
Unless you do the same thing, you will never walk successfully in your business or in your life. There is no big secret, only a simple one. Just like the child, knowing who you are makes all the difference.
It is a must for you to know that you were born to succeed. The baby wanted to walk because she was born to. You want to succeed because you were born to. It is already in you to succeed. Nothing can prevent your success when you know that.
STAND UP, because you know that nothing can prevent you.
PAUSE, because you are surrounded by new information to digest.
TAKE A STEP, because nothing can stop you from being who you already are.
You are born for financial success. Everything you want and everything you need is already within you, revealed by your desires to keep going. Know that, and like the baby, YOU WILL WALK INTO SUCCESS. First steps never give up.
