Have you ever had this great night sleep when you feel refreshed and energized in the  morning that you don’t even need a cup of your favourite coffee to pick you up? Your brain is working thousands miles per hour and you feel like you could climb Mount Everest !  I feel like that this morning.

These days sleep is seen as a luxury that not everyone can effort especially when you are busy parent with kids so getting 8 hours sleep sounds like a dream.

Skipping sleep or not getting enough impairs brain function, creates anxiety and impact our ability to solve problems.

undefinedStudies also show that lack of sleep contributes to weight gain and accelerate aging processes.

So if we want to get rid of that stubborn belly fat and look younger we have to find or make some time to get a good night sleep.

Staying in bed for too long is not good for us either. Some studies indicate that too much sleep can be linked to developing dementia and increases risk of Alzheimer so at both short and long extremes, rest may have an effect on mood and mental health.

While we sleep we go through 4 phases of sleep. Two REM and two DELTA phases. REM phase is the phase when the sleep is shallow and we have vivid dreams. We usually remember those dreams after waking up.

DELTA phase is the phase of deep sleep. This is the phase when our body and mind rest. Deeper the  sleep is the more relaxed and focused we will be on the next day. Deep sleep can boost our energy level and supports thinking processes. DELTA phase it’s the phase when growth hormone is produced. Growth hormone plays huge role in our body as its used for growth in kids and works as anti-aging agent for adults. It is also very important for muscle repair and muscular growth so all bodybuilders want to pay attention to it. :)

Everyone has a different sleep pattern but study shows that getting a good night sleep determines your day and it is critical to your success.

According Forbes the most of successful people sleep around 5-6 hours a day. They usually go to bed at 11pm to wake up at 5am. 6 hours sleep is enough for them to feel happy and stay focused.

We need sleep as sleep is like a visit to spa when your body and mind finally get time to relax and rejuvenate.

So if you want to be successful like Bill Gates or PepsiCo CEO Indra Nooyi follow these sleep routine that will set you up for a good night sleep:

  • Read a real book before sleep
  • Write down all things you are grateful for in a day
  • Write down things that you want accomplish the next day
  • Turn off cell phone
  • Keep your room dark and quiet

By getting a great night sleep we help our brain to make a new neurological connections and allow any cell repair processes to happen. So if you feel like you can’t keep your eyes open is totally legit to take a nap. Not only your skin will thank you later…

I hope you all had a great night sleep. Wishing you a successful and productive day.
