WHAT IS BRAND AWARENESS?
What do we mean when we talk about brand awareness? Why is it so important? What do we have to do to get it?
Much is heard about the subject, but it is not always clear what it is specifically about. Brand awareness has to do with the fact that a person does not need to see the name of our company, to know that a product, a publication, or a slogan belongs to us. In other words, it is about our customers and potential customers being able to recognize us without us telling them directly who we are.
WHY IS IMPORTANT TO BRING BRAND AWARENESS TO YOUR DIGITAL BUSINESS?
The consumer hardly buys what it does not know. So the main thing is that, if you have never heard of a brand or a company before, you won’t want to make any deal with them. The brand “war” is fought in the mind of the consumer, and because of this, it is very important to bring brand awareness to your business.
Most business leaders focus on immediate conversion. They want to see people land on their websites, and convert them into potential customers immediately.
However, the reality is that no one just lands on a website and immediately decides to submit a form. A large majority of people (around 98%), who land on a website, bounces. This means that only 2% of them will be converted.
At this point, your duty will be to try to figure out how to attract as much traffic* as possible to your website. And those people, who come there, need to trust you.
For all these reasons is necessary to bring brand awareness to your digital business.
*Traffic: it is very important that you have very clear in your mind what your target market is. If you market to everybody, you market to anyone.
HOW DO YOU BRING BRAND AWARENESS TO YOUR DIGITAL BUSINESS?
- CONTENT CREATION:
The best way to bring brand awareness to your digital business is by producing content. When you produce great content, on a regular basis, you will begin to gain the trust of your audience. You have to be present whenever and wherever they are.
Creating blogs and videos is one way to achieve this. With these publications, on a regular basis, you will get your audience to start discovering your content, and over time, they will start to trust you and your brand.
All those actions will lead you to having your name being recognized and known in your marketplace. Eventually, you should become a reputable name.
And that goes a long way when they do go to your website. They start recognizing your logo, your face; they start remembering the content they have read. And at some point, people start putting it all together and realize that they do know this company. A company that produces a ton of great content.
- PROMOTION OF CONTENT:
The promotion of your content has to be a part of your strategy to bring brand awareness to your digital business.
And this is important because if you don’t promote your brand, you are not going to get much in terms of reaching people who have never heard of you and your brand. That is where you have a great opportunity to increase and reach that audience.
If you are a small business, or you are in a situation where you have to deal with a limited budget, then you should consider promoting your content on social media. There are many platforms where you can be present. One of the pros of promoting yourself through social media is that it’s free. But we have to take into account that we will reach our audience very slowly.
On the other hand, if you prefer to do it in a faster way, you will have to resort to paid advertisements.
You can make the next question to yourself: “Where does my market target hang out?”
Figure it out! It is very important that you know where your ideal customer is going to spend the most amount of time, and which platform is going to make the most sense for them. And just be there, in an active way, contributing and engaging. And even you can put some money behind the platform to increase the reach and exposure of your content in those platforms.
So decide which platform is going to make more sense for your customer profile that you are going after, and then spend all your energy and resources there to see the return of the investment.
CONSISTENCY IN YOUR ACTIONS:
As I said before, you must create the content on a regular basis. It’s not going to work if you only create a post once a month. Even if the post you’ve created is of high quality. It doesn’t work that way.
You need to put consistency in your content. If you’re going to be in social media, your audience will expect you to be there. Try to imagine a potential customer of your brand asking a question in one of your posts. If it’s not you, one of your guys on the team should be there and give an answer to that question on time.
