There are many proven routes to your own online store. I will present only the two simplest and most popular methods on the market. You decide which is more interesting.
Note: success is not guaranteed 🙃😁
Shopify is the most well-known platform for making a store in the world. Its resources include users in 150 countries and over 300,000 e-commerce stores. It is also an ideal place for those who have no idea about creating websites and coding. In fact, it is such a simple program that even a child will be able to build an online store.
In addition, you do not have to worry about the technical aspects of the store, because most activities are automatic, such as creating pages, adding products, shipping or payment. Creating a storefront is based on copy and paste with ready-made templates, although your own style will be more respectful to your potential customers.
a. To start, create your account by clicking 'Start free trial'
b. Fill out all the questions
Now you are on the dashboard and together with Shopify, you can start creating your own store. If you do not have your own products and want to use the dropshipping system as much as possible, the first option will be to find products.
c. In the left menu click 'Apps' -> Visit Shopify Store -> Finding and adding products -> See more
At this point, you must devote some time. As you can see, there are many apps here and they are not all in the categories of your interests or your pocket. However, the best way is to click each one separately and read the instructions, prices, and requirements.
d. After finding the right app, add it and install
e. Add products to your store, create your own price, add, optional, a description in your own language
The next step will be the customize theme, or the overall look of your store.
f. Left menu -> Online Store -> Themes -> select and add one -> customize
In point 'f' you have to go through practically all of the listed sections and get them cleaned up according to your preferences. Knowing what products you want to sell, you will not have any problems.
g. Left menu -> Online Store -> Domains -> Buy new domain
This is also an important step because at this moment your store has the name: (name of your store).myshopify.com, which of course does not look good.
Therefore, it is very important as not the most important step. Your site should have a professional URL.
25% of all websites are made in Wordpress, which is no surprise because this platform is free. You pay only for domain and hosting. Of course, as in the entire Internet, there is a Pro version of templates and other add-ons, however, even with a minimal contribution can create a professional website.
Building a store will be much cheaper, although not always faster. That is why it is very important that you will get rid of the themes that Wordpress offers. Some are very complicated, and some are almost ready.
In my long-term practice of creating various websites, not only stores, my preferences in choosing templates (themes) point to two options: OceanWp with Elementor and Divi. Remember that at this point it is about simple and adapted to our needs tools. Other templates may be used to shop, but they are most often used for other practices, such as a blog. For a professional, however, each sort will be good.
a. Create an account here and go through all the steps.
b. After logging in, go to the dashboard and you will be operating from here
A properly operating store has a shop window and an actual store. The storefront can be taken care of, but the store is the usual basis. You need a few plugins for this. And this will be our next step.
The most important plugin is Woocommerce. This is an app. who sells, calculates, sends, takes payments, sends e-mails, all you need is if a customer buys something in your store. In addition, this plugin displays products from your warehouse.
c. Left menu in Dashboard -> plugins -> add new -> enter Woocommerce in the search engine -> install -> activate
d. Menu in Dashboard -> woocommerce -> settings
Here, pay more attention. These are the settings of your store, as well as the shipping or payment costs. Go to each tab. If you do not know anything yet, please leave it later, or find a suitable video on youtube 'how to set up Woocommerce plugin' or something ...
The next step is to find the supplier. It works the most with Shopify, but Woocommerce has its own alternatives and they are sometimes better and cheaper, giving more options.
One of such connections is AliDropship, a sensational plugin that gives you access to almost every item on Aliexpress. With just one click you bring items from Ali to your store, set your prices, shipping costs and communications between you and Aliexpress on the subject of payment, and ready.
To download this plugin click here. This cost only 89,- one-time fee.
e. Dashboard -> plugins -> add new -> upload plugin (from your computer) -> install -> activate
In any case, if you decide to open your own online store through Shopify or Wordpress, I wish you success.
