And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.
The main reason for me going through my most recent challenge, was the fact that I had isolated myself. I wasn't spending time with the right people, or people in general, and this led me to seeing my situation from the wrong perspective. The battle in my mind was starting to get the better of me, until I made a decision to go and meet with the Pastor of a church that I was going to last year.
This one short meeting changed everything for me, as I began to change my perspective due to my spirits being uplifted. I realised quickly, the importance of fellowship, especially with the right people. This is something that I had advised so many people about in the past, yet there I was, needing to take heed of my own advice.
Surrounding yourself with the right people is one of the most important aspects of your life. Meeting with them regularly to encourage each other, feed off each other, in order to enrich each others lives is the purpose of fellowship. The importance of meeting, to talk, to laugh, to cry, be strong, be vulnerable, cannot be over-estimated.
This lesson I have learned, to my benefit, which I am very thankful for. So if there is anything that you need to discuss, choose the right person, and then be open and honest with them. Being vulnerable is a strength and not a weakness, as is commonly thought.
God wants us to gather together, to worship and praise Him. In so doing, His strength will revitalise you and keep you.
