What Are The Skills An Entrepreneur Should Learn?

This is a question that most entrepreneurs ask themselves when they start a new venture. And If you look at the internet, you will find that it is full of ideas, advice, tips and suggestions about the action steps you need to take.

However, I find that the most critical skill required to start a business or anything in life is to be in control of our internal belief system as it plays an essential role in our success or failure.

I grew up in an environment where women were supposed to get married, have children and be good wives.

My dad built a successful business, but he never taught me anything about it because I was a woman. He believed that I was supposed to get married and let my husband provide for our children and for me.

But as the years went on, I challenged those beliefs and began entertaining the idea of starting a business.

One day, a very good friend of mine invited me to join her multi-level marketing business. I joined; but even though I had all these dreams and hopes, the fear of failure and inadequacy kept coming into my mind, and as a result, I didn't do anything with it.

However, one benefit that I got out of it was that I was introduced to personal development. Thanks to it, I began to understand how powerful our mind is when it comes to change our beliefs.

For years, I have been reading books, attending seminars and webinars on personal growth and I have my favourite mentors. What I find is that they all agree that the most important asset in business and life is you and your mindset.

Every day, I am into the habit of hearing the top active personal development influencers across the web, and today I listened to Marisa Peer talking about collaboration between you and your mind.

Marisa Peer talks about this topic in her TEDxKCS entitled "To reach beyond your limits by training your mind."

Marisa Peer was named Best British Therapist by Men's Health Magazine and features in Tatler's Guide to Britain's 250 Best Doctors. She has spent 25 years working with an extensive client list including royalty, rock stars, actors, professional and Olympic athletes, CEOs and media personalities and has developed her own unique approach, which is frequently referred to as life-changing.

According to Marisa Peer, there are four things about your mind that you need to do.

When you put them into practice, you will have success across the board at all levels.

1. Tell Your Mind What you Want

Your mind does precisely what it thinks you want to do, what it is in your best interest. If you haven't got what you want, but you have behaviours you don't want, you are not collaborating correctly with your mind.

The way you collaborate with your mind is by using precise, very detailed, exact positive and powerful words of what you want. Such as, I want this, I've chosen this, I like this. Rewire your brain to success, not only in business but in every aspect of your life.

2. Link Massive Pleasure

Once you practice telling your mind what you want, make sure you link it with pleasure.

Your mind is hardwired to move towards pleasure and away from pain. Link massive, enormous fun to get where you want to go.

We are hardwired to avoid pain. And you are the only person who can choose every day what is pain and pleasure for you. You have to tell your mind precisely what you want, and you have to link pleasure not pain to do the things that are hard.

3. Change The Pictures and Change Words

The way you feel about everything all the time is only down to two things: The picture you make in your head and the words you say to yourself.

When you collaborate with your brain, you must change your thinking into positive words because the pictures you make and the words you say to yourself will change everything. Your body doesn't care if what you are telling it is true or false, it will only respond to the words and images you are thinking about.

4. Make The Familiar, Unfamiliar

Your mind loves what is familiar. It is programmed to keep going over and over what is familiar. If you want to succeed, you want to make what is familiar, unfamiliar.

Whatever you say to your mind it believes, tell it better things. First, you make your beliefs, and then your beliefs make you.

Make self-belief so natural to you that everyone else believes in you, too. When you stretch your mind to another dimension, it will never go back because your potential expands as you move towards it.
