Wise tips on starting a business

Starting a business is a marathon not a sprint.

There’s a lot to be said about placing yourself outside of your comfort zone and that being a catalyst for change.

Personally I’ve gone down the road of working part time for an employer and setting up my business online part time. This way I can cover my expenses, which I would otherwise stress about and in turn struggle to think clearly.

I believe that setting up a business is a marathon not a sprint. Unless you're desperate with no other options, it may be wiser to take the time to set up a solid foundation, rather than make things up as you go or wing it.

Patrick Hull writes about exactly that. He's been an Entrepreneur for over 25 years and has started nearly 30 businesses. Whilst the same thing doesn't work for everyone, you'd need to ask yourself how desperate you are for change.

How quickly do you want it to happen? If you don't have a clear business idea...neither did I! I just knew that I wanted to work for myself and help people to realize that there are alternatives to the traditional work force.

Know what you want?

If you know what you want, then start doing something about it. Set aside a little bit of time each day, whether it be to research, to take action, planning, etc. If you know you want your own business, but unsure of what, then do the same thing!

Take time each day to research, to take action, get involved in what interests you and slowly a clear picture will form in the direction you're meant to go.
