How often do you say THANK YOU” How often do you go ‘out of your way’ to really acknowledge someone for making a BIG or SMALL DIFFERENCE in your LIFE? Is it often or rarely said? Good to notice, and hey, consider there is "NO RIGHT ANSWER". However, you may discover the next time you open your mouth to PUBLICALLY ANNOUNCE (versus saying it ‘in your head’), your APPRECIATION of the person who has helped you in some way, that MIRACLES ARISE?!
Only last weekend, 10 – 11 August, this lady (who lives in India), moved mountains to get these pictures done! I assert my acknowledgments certainly encouraged her with some enthusiastic replies!
I invite you to JUMP RIGHT IN and give out some acknowledgments. After I did the Landmark Forum in 1993, I saw that I was fairly ‘ungenerous’ for letting my parents know how grateful I was for the life they had given me. I am so grateful I learned to acknowledge my father, (for something so special to me as a child) before Dad finally succumbed to cancer in 2005. He successfully survived three “chemos” and made a good eleven years before he finally let go.
What I said was “Dad, I really wanna say thank you so much for choosing “The Trilogy of the Lord Of the Rings" to read to my brother and I, as a bedtime story for all those many many months! I so remember looking forward to climbing into bed and waiting to hear the next episode for Frodo’s adventures. Dad, thank you for the time and patience you put into it each night. It really impacted my imagination in oh so many ways.” Bless my English father, after hearing these words simply and modestly replied: “ Son, that’s what every father does!” PASS IT ON!
