It’s the Simple Process of Defining Your Target Audience, Looking at their Hopes & Dreams, Fears, Pains & Problems and bringing them face to face with the Solutions You Provide.
You do this by putting out Multiple Versions of the Same Ad, just Tweaking the way in which it is said;
More Formal, Less Formal, More Funny, Tongue in Cheek, Angry, Irritable, writing in the First Person, the Second Person, or the Third Person… You play around with which Ideas go at the Start, the Middle and the End of your Ad. You try different Graphics and Images.
You throw all these versions to the Wind and see which ones Stick!
(If nothing sticks, you’ve Misread your Audience and what they are Looking for, or you're not placing your Ad where they "hang out".)
It’s a Scientific Process of Deduction & Elimination.
You have to approach it with Curiosity and not a Rigid Idea in Your Head:
“I Know What People Want!”
No, You Don’t!
Your job as a Marketer is the become Skilled in “Speaking the Language, your Audience Listens to.” You do this through a process of Trial & Error.
This will take Time, Effort & Money. Think of all these things, as the Cost of Your Education.
