Growing with the internet

There is absolutely no doubt that the internet is growing and it is doing so at an astronomical rate. If you even stopped to think about this or even track its growth, the overwhelm would cause your head to spin right off your shoulders. So I'll let the experts do it.

A brief History
The internet was first thought up in 1945 and up until 1995 it was very much in an experimental infancy stage. You can read more about it's history if you click on the link at the bottom of the page (W3C)1.
The internet only really took of from 1995 and is still growing. If you read the Global Village .2 link you will get a more in depth look at the stats.
Just to highlight how rapid the growth is, here are figures from 1995 & again 2017:
DATE: December, 1995                       DATE: December 2017
NUMBER OF USERS: 16 millions      NUMBER OF USERS:  4,157 millions
0.4 % WORLD                                    54.4 %WORLD
POPULATION                                    POPULATION
INFORMATION                                  INFORMATION
SOURCE: IDC                                  SOURCE: Internet World Stats

Now if that is the case and it continues growing at the same rate then it won't be too long before it reaches 70, 80% or even 100% of the population.
What then?
Will it transform from the Internet to Meganet or Supernet?
What will it's capabilities be?
Social media has been primarily responsible for catapaulting the internet's growth, but then so too have search engines like Google.
We now shop, listen to music on line, watch tv, movies, play games, find dates & communicate through video calls, etcetera. There seems to be nothing that it can't do.
At present 54.4% of the World's population would be lost without it, though out of that 54.4% only a very few actualy use the internet or appreciate it to it's full potential.
Most people will use social media, do the odd search on Google, play a game and buy something from Amazon. That's it!!!
Before I got involved with on line marketing, I too never gave the internet much thought. Yes it was a very handy tool, though I didn't know how it worked or what it or I can actualy do. I looked at facebook, gmail, what's app and then played Hey Day for the rest of the evening.

Though I'm not a baby boomer, my first experience with a computer scared me shitless as we had to programme old BBC computers in school in Basic. That put me off computers for years.
Now if the internet is growing at the rate it is and the generation now, who are being born in this internet age are to grow up with the internet, like I did with the skate board and Rubiks Cube, then in a few years seeing young children being taught about and via the internet in school from a young age will be the norm. Some schools are already exchanging books for tablets.
My son, who is only 7, totally baffles me on his knowledge of his Kurio tablet. I never taught him it, but he has no fear that he might push the wrong button and break it, like I would.
All good for his generation and please God all will work out for the best for all our children in the internet and AI age.
However in the now, there is us (adults) and the internet and instead of us using it as a tool to entertain us, can we use it to make a living.
I used to think only people like Mark Zuckerberg and Steve Jobs made money out of the internet, ignorance isn't always bliss.
Affiliate Marketing was a totally new concept to me only 4 short months ago, I never even knew it existed, but it is huge and many people of my generation are making an absolute fortune doing it. The beauty of the modern internet is that it is idiotproof and anyone can do it and you don't need a masters degree in computer programming either.
Many companies are offering on line marketing training but the company I chose was SFM, as they offer state of the art training with amazing on-line mentorship & peer support and you can earn as you learn as an affiliate. It is a great platform to start off on your internet journey/ career.
I have taken this step into the internet abyss, I’m not tech savvy at all, and with the support of SFM, I am working my way through it. The internet is here to stay and is the future for all of us, so don’t get left behind because it is gaining momentum. If you want to learn what I am learning and are in a point in your life where you want change, then I offer you, through my mentors, Stuart & Jay, a no obligation FREE 7 day video series to watch.
Thanks for reading, and hope to see you on the other side.
