You therefore have no excuse, you who pass judgement on another. For on whatever grounds you judge the other, you are condemning yourself, because you who pass judgement do the same things. And we know that God's judgement against those who do such things is based on truth. So when you, O man, pass judgement on others, yet do the same things, do you think you will escape God's judgement? Or do you disregard His kindness, tolerance and patience, not realising that God's kindness leads you to repentance?
But because of your hard and unrepentant heart, you are storing up wrath against yourself for the day of wrath, when God's righteous judgement will be revealed. God "will repay each one according to his deeds".
I attend a Bible study meeting every Tuesday evening, and a lively discussion transpired at the end of the meeting tonight. The Pastor mentioned that I listen to a particular minister all the time, and once he did that, one member of the group became animated because he had seen an interview with this particular minister, where he did not condemn homosexuals. A number of the other members, sided with the other member and a heated debate began. The Pastor showed good leadership and interjected to try and resolve the issue.
I'm a person that doesn't care, what colour your skin is, where you come from, what religion you adhere to, if any, what your sexual preference is, whatever makes you, you is irrelevant to me. What matters to me, is whether you are a kind-hearted, open-minded person. The fact of the matter is, how you live your life, is your own business, and how I live mine, is my business.
When the day of judgement comes, I will have to answer for my life, and you will have to answer for yours. I am not God, therefore I am not going to sit in judgement over you, and hopefully, you will not sit in judgement over me.
My interpretation, is that the Bible is our instruction book for how to live our lives. It clearly states, the way to think, talk, and act. Almighty God blessed us with a free will. Not even He judges us whilst we are living on this earth, but His judgement will come later, so who am I to judge another person, or another person to judge me?
The best sermon, is example, so that is what I aim to do with how I live my life.
Matthew 7:1 Do not judge, or you will be judged. For with the same judgement you pronounce, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.
