5 ways to stay fit with a busy schedule - Hey! How you doing?

Working-working and maybe not much time and energy left to stay fit as you wish?

I remember when I was working full time. Depending on the company I was working for, I would finish between 5 pm and 8 pm.

Working out after 8 pm for me was harsh but even when I worked just until 5, why did I feel tired?

After all, I spent most of my time in front of a computer...and I didn't like that.
I actually realized that I was the most energetic when I was out all day introducing myself to new clients, walking around 3-4 hours.

But when I was sitting just in front of a computer I would get home so drained. With not much mental and physical energy left to work out.

I wanted to change so here's what I found out:

1. DO IT IN THE MORNING

If you wanna stay fit but you can't find the energy after work, you can do it as soon as you wake up.
If you would have told me this some time ago I would have said NO WAY.

I am TOTALLY a night person, I hate to wake up in the morning and I tried to work out as soon as I woke up before and didn't work.

But I did this coaching program by Anthony Robbins, called "The Edge" and I started this morning ritual called "The Hour of Power". I wrote an article where I speak about it in more depth, you can find it here.

It REALLY helped me and I still do it to this day. If I skip a day, because I am too tired, I REALLY miss it. It feels like not taking a shower in the morning if you're used to do that.

I started really slow by stretching or just walking and then I progressed into a more energetic work.
It was my way to stay fit, in an enjoyable way and it gave me more energy during the day.

2. PROPER DIET STARTS AT THE SUPERMARKET

I think we can all agree that it's hard to say no to something tasty but not so healthy if you have it at home.

But if you don't have it at all...simply you can't have it.

If you know you shouldn't eat cheese or sweets even though you love it, you shouldn't buy at the supermarket.

Proper diet really starts there!

3. SNACKS CAN KILL ALL THE WORK

You can work out like crazy and have a great diet but if you have an unhealthy snack in the mid-morning and one in the mid-afternoon, chances are you may be screwing up all the hard work.

Often I feel hungry and I was something to eat right away, I don't wanna start cooking. So thinking ahead and having healthy choices for your snacks helps A LOT.

2 choices for salty snacks and 2 choices for sweet snacks can work really well. A low fat, low sugar protein bar and a vegan or chicken and lettuce wrap are two great choices. Also, fruits and healthy juices work well! Just watch out for the sugars...

4. CUT CARBS IN THE EVENING  

Obviously, diet is essential to stay fit and a couple of easy to follow habits can make a tremendous difference in the long run.

I am personally working on my diet to cut animal products as much as possible. I don't wanna say Vegan, even though I am trying, because sometimes I still like to eat anice cream and have some prosciutto on my pizza, but for the most part I cut 95% of animal products.

You don't have to, it's just my personal choice, but by cutting animal products you cut a lot of fat.
If you're not ready or not interested to cut animal products a good way to go is to eat protein and fibers in the evening, no carbs, or very little. I am not a nutritionist and this is just my personal view, I am sharing what worked for me and other people I know ;)

5. DOING WHAT YOU LIKE MAKES A HUGE DIFFERENCE

Ever noticed the difference in your energy when you have a great day and when you have an awful day?

Doesn't take a genius to realize that one energizes you and the other sucks energy out of you.
Knowing and actually doing what you like as a job is extremely rare. I honestly haven't found a job that I LOVED yet, at least in the traditional definition of "job".

I balanced my life between doing what I had to do at work and my passions and sports in the free time.

But sometimes it's hard to do that, so demanding. Plus if you lived on your own far from home like I did for so many years...it's all on you.

Laundry, buying groceries, cooking, cleaning and so on.

Sure the cleaning lady can help sometimes, but not everybody has the luxury of having a cleaning lady once per week.

So how to find something you actually like?

And how can we make it work so that I could quit my job and start enjoying life to the fullest?
It's a tough one. But eventually we all have to face it.

I am not in the position to say that my life is perfect and there is so much I need to learn in every area of my life to get where I want to be but I made a step in a different direction when it comes to work.

I started my business online through a mentor I met online and that freed up a lot of time that I used to play sports and stay fit.
