I have an important secret to success ...

Today I'll address one of the biggest challenges facing many members of our community that's holding them back from achieving the success they deserve.

It's fear. But it's a specific type of fear.

Fear of discomfort or fear of being uncomfortable.

When we feel uncomfortable, it's human nature to retreat back to your comfort zone. Yet this behavior prevents us from making positive changes in our lives.

Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

The scripture says not to fear because the Lord is with you. He will help you and strengthen you.

Here are two ideas to consider to help you overcome fear of discomfort.

The first idea is RE-FRAMING.

If you're thinking of discomfort as negative, convince yourself to RE-FRAME discomfort as positive.

It's the same with anything in life, be in a new diet or starting a new business/ career. You may feel uncomfortable with the changes in the way you live. For me it is starting a new journey in online marketing. I must admit that learning something new and knowing that I have to put in some effort into something for it to work was going to be a challenge that i never really rose to before.

RE-FRAME any negative feelings about discomfort by thinking about the positive outcomes you're about to experience.

Think about shedding pounds, think about making a large turnover, think about that promotion you are after etc, Think about fitting into your "skinny" jeans. Think about the positive impact on your health and well-being, freedom and overall lifestyle.

Think about the compliments you'll receive from your friends, family, and co-workers, think about the sense of achievement you will feel from succeeding in your goals.

RE-FRAMING the situation into something positive will help you easily conquer any fear of discomfort you may feel.

The second idea is HABIT. Studies show it takes 21 days to form a habit - just 3 weeks. That's not a very long period of time. Plus it gets easier every day.

So two simple ways to overcome fear of discomfort are:

1) RE-FRAME the situation to change the way you think and feel about discomfort.

2) HABIT. Push through the discomfort for 21-days to form a new habit. It will get easier every day as you see and feel the positive results.
