Earthquake.. Working From Home

Firstly  think pre-planning it will get you thru…  Ensure you are safe! Check the structural integrity of your home! If it is unsafe… get out! Switch on radio and await emergency broadcasts. Have your go kit prepared already and be prepared to move. While waiting, start with your family and neighbours make sure they are safe! Look after your children and pets. Use facebook safe button to tell your wider friends of your safety.

If the power is off batteries in cell towers last 5-6 hours stay off phones after checking in, leave the cellphones to emergency services.

Make sure your cellphone charged and phones automatically diverted to your cell if on fibre. Have spare batteries for your radio.

If alert tells you to go to higher ground do so immediately.

Have your go route planned warm clothes food water all ready to go.

Have plastic tarpaulins, duct tape, rope, crowbar (pinch bar) in your kit (doors may be hard to open,  handy to prize things apart. Those plastic tarps can be used as shelter or to fix your roof with duct tape where it's moved!

Have a little gas ring in your kit, your emergency food and your favourite beverage always handy to lift spirits with a hot drink!

Sleeping bags a must!
