TIME – It's not really a bad four lettered word - How to Make More Time The Easy Way

Our clocks have gone back an hour. It’s is always a great feeling having that extra hour.

But what did you do with the extra hour today?

Laid in a bed a bit longer?

Caught up on a favourite book?

Spend time with the kids just having breakfast?

It is not easy getting up early if you are not a morning person and many of us aren’t.

The morning is a real struggle, for me it is the time my bed becomes really wamr and comfy just as the alarm is about to go off, I seem to settle into my best sleep.

As I lay there I know it is not helping me move forward in any shape or form.

Laying in bed and thinking about what I should be doing to reach my goals is the fastest way to fail. undefinedI’m a writer and I love to write.

I set time aside in the morning when it is still and quiet, it is when I think best.

But I have to be honest there are times when even though I am going to do something I love doing, writing, it is still not easy getting out of my bed.

The one thing holding back writers and people from moving towards their dreams and goals is they say they just don’t have the time.

They say they are waiting until they have the time. They know that in reality that means they will never get started till it’s too late.

They are often working a full-time job, they have families, they have their favourite TV programs to watch, they have to check emails and by the time they come to being creative or make time for the important things to make lasting change in their lives, they simply just don’t have the energy.

So they often give up before they even get started.

They stay on the treadmill and moan and moan – we all know a few of those I am sure.

They are the worst procrastinators of all I call them the Non Starters.

The truth is we spend time on the things that we value the most.

So if you value making positive change in your life then you must make the time.

Already you may be struggling with your inner thoughts.

But how will I find the time you may be thinking?

I don’t have any time in my day?

Every moment is filled with stuff I have to do?

Things I am committed to?

This is hard, that little voice is saying, ‘I can’t do it.’

But you can if you change the way you approach this and your mindset.

When you focus and set your mind on anything you can achieve whatever you desire.

I have heard successful people say over and over again the secret to their success.

They made time to become successful.

They would get up earlier, 60  - 90 minutes earlier than their usual time.

This is the time of morning when there are no distractions, it is calm and peaceful in the home and they can find space in which to create.

This is the golden hour the time when you can focus.

If you want to write, many writers will attest to this being the best time to create.

But there is just one big hurdle for many people who are challenged by time.

That is actually getting up and out of your bed early.

I know because I was there once before. I loved nothing more than a lie in. To stretch and slowly come to wake.

My alarms, yes that was meant as a plural because I would have several set at intervals.undefined

But all that would happen was that I would turn the first alarm off knowing that another would be going off shortly after and then then next as I lay there contemplating lifting my body out of the bed.

If this is what you are doing then just stop.

There is nothing more that I can say.

First chose one alarm time and only one and set your alarm to this time.

When your alarm starts to ring don’t just turn it off, lift your body up and sit up straight and then turn it off. Well done you are half way up and almost out of your bed.

I remember when I was starting off on this journey of change.

I started to set my alarm earlier than usual.

On the first morning, I am not going to lie to you, it was hard but the second was even harder and then by the third it was still not getting any better and by the fourth I was ready to throw it in.

By then the tiredness had started to kick in and the negative thoughts had started to prevail.

But, there was one difference that last time - I kept going.

Persistence and consistency, those are the keys things you need to remember to make more time.

Then one day, I found that I was waking up before my alarm.

My body had reset itself to this earlier hour.

I began to look forward to this time to this space of my own.

My own personal bliss I would call it.

I would sit and allow the thoughts to flow I would write for 30 – 60 minutes it never mattered what I would just write and I would just let whatever thoughts I had that morning flow.

The art of mastering anything and creating more time is to just start.
