Back in January of this year, I set myself 5 Goals to achieve in the next 3 months. It’s safe to say I can take a massive L. Here are the results.
1. READ 2 BOOKS
I read one book, but the book I read was mind blowing. It was, The power of now by Eckhart Tolle. I wrote about 15 pages of comments and quotes in my journal when reading it because I wanted to really analyse what the author was saying. Although I didn’t read two, I’m so glad I read this one, it was fantastic.
2. MAKE $100
Yeah, this is a lot harder than it looks. I’m mainly focusing on free advertising which makes it a fair bit harder but I did not make a single cent to be honest.
3. ATTEND A SEMINAR
I came close but, never ended up getting to one. Something I definitely want to do.
4. GET 100 PEOPLE ON MY LIST
I got 2! Getting two people to subscribe to my email list actually felt great no matter how petty it sounds.
5. BENCH PRESS 100kg (220 lbs)
I got up to 95kg, but just couldn’t make the 100kg.
To summarise, yes, I am disappointed because I got nowhere near reaching my goals. Doing this has shown me just how quick 3 months goes! I had a very busy 3 months, including organising a new home I’m building with my fiancé and planning an engagement party. However, there will always be obstacles in life that take up your time and you just have to adapt and overcome.
Setting goals like this and reviewing your results has been so beneficial to me in reflecting on my use of time and what my priorities should be. Although I failed, I’ve got a ton of motivation to get my ass into gear. Moving forward, the same 5 goals stand, I’m going to go for them again, so let’s see how I go and what I’ve learned. Remember it’s better to have failed and learned than to never have tried at all.
