Attention and focus are two things you need more than anything to accomplish.....well anything. If you need work done or get into the shape or make a shift in your life you need to have a certain degree of attention and focus in your life.

In my case, that focus is needed whilst in the process of building my own online marketing business (if you want to find out a bit more about this incredible platform click here  http://tidyurl.com/l3rvey

It is so easy to get distracted by things that surround you and procrastinate in the process as the brain is trying to process so much information and help you decide where should your focus go.

To delve a bit deeper into the neuroscience of attention and focus, essentially there are two of many parts of your brain that are deciding of where your attention will flow. First, there is a conscious decision when we need to pay attention to something important. We will then release a hormone called dopamine to denote this importance. The second pathway is when our attention is stolen by something shocking. A sudden loud noise! We will then release another neurotransmitter to focus our attention on that particular sound.

Now, this was a bit of science behind it but what do we do to increase our focus when trying to achieve something?

For me, the most important thing is to find your "why"? What is your purpose of being productive and wanting to focus? Find your passion and desire. Dr John DiMartini said: "Sort out your why's and how's will sort themselves out." You must have a clear vision of where you are going. In times when going gets tough, you can always go back to that "why" you are doing it.

Create a story for yourself of how would you like your perfect day to look like. How do you see yourself in the future? Feel the emotions that go with it. As the saying goes:" you don't attract in life what you want but who you are." Become the person you want to be in the mind first and it will become a reality.

We really want to bring ourselves to a flow state. A flow state is the state of mind that we can enter, where everything else seems to fall away and we become purely focused on what we need to do. If you were ever so caught up in your work or reading a book that you just don't notice the time, well that is a flow state.

By living our passion and doing the things that make us want to get up in the morning. Find that thing, grab hold of it and you will never lack focus and attention.
