What will your Vision say about you?

My eyes are brown.  Maybe yours are too or perhaps they are blue?  We both can see, but our lenses are slightly different.  The meaning behind our words differ.  The beliefs we hold are slightly altered as is our youth and upbringing.  But we do have something in common...

We both desire to change our lives for the better.

I know for me, I cannot continue on with the status quo that which is my current reality.  And so I gave it to myself to make a decision to start changing my habits.  I'm starting to look at the things I have been doing differently.  I'm starting to do things differently.  Everything I have done so far has gotten me to this point, but I no longer see them getting me to that next level.

Folks, it doesn't matter where you are at in life.  It doesn't matter if you are wanting to make a change in your career or in your personal life.  The desires we hold for ourselves never cease.  We are never going to get it all done.  Begin to be OK with this!

Once you know what you don't want, you know what you want...right?  So what do YOU want?  I would hope if you are reading this post that you have already given some thought into what you want out of life.  But I wont go so far as to say that it's bad if you haven't given thought to this.  We all got to start somewhere...

Whether you are seasoned in your thoughts or you are just starting to sizzle, having a vision for yourself is truly an asset worth investing in.

In fact, use the best pen you can find to write it down.  Then keep it tighly packed into your back pocket so you have access to it at all times.  I'm serious.  If you do not have a vision for yourself, it will take you that much longer to become the best version of yourself.  It will take that much longer to live the life you were always meant to live.

So take the time.  Take the 15 min, hour, or two to go on a vision quest for yourself.  Or back up and simply take a look at your current life and identify the pain points.  You know, the negative aspects you focus your attention on.  How can you move your intentions and thoughts relative to those things into a higher realm of emotion?

Can you move from sadess to anger?  From anger to frustration?  From frustration to contentment? From contentment to hope?  From hope to believing?  Where do you fall relative to your personal life or your career life?  It's going to be different for each.  So I challenge you to look at each component of your personal and career life and identify the emotions you hold relative to each.  Because that is what I am doing.  And I'll tell ya, I've already discovered that my emotional point of reference for every compenent changes every day.  And that the changes are directly relative to my mindset in that moment.

This takes time folks.  But can you afford to NOT do this for yourself?

Start to become aware.  Become aware of what it is you dream about.  What it is you aspire to be? What interests you?  Play around in the ethers of your imagination.  Just run with it ....  But do please make sure your emotions are lined up.  If what you are dreaming about doesn't feel good, stop dreaming about it.  Fear can so easily creep in and wreak havoc.  Just put it aside for now.  And move towards ease and freedom and I promise you, you'll be delighted with what you'll discover. What you'll be capable of conjuring up for yourself.

When you take the time out to invest in yourself, you tell yourself that you are worthy of only the best. You make a committment to yourself.  And that is a good thing.  The time spent isn't lost.  It is only gained.  You will have a much greater sense of clarity.  And clarity is a hidden gem.  For without it we remain unfocused and sold on status quo.  When we hold clarity in our back pocket, we can start to gain momentum and inspiration.  We can start to plan our course of action.  We choose the areas we are capable of making changes to first.  Then we move to the next.  And it becomes easier because momentum is on our side, propelling us forward.

So as I have been writing to you all here, I now find myself inspired to create a Visionary Tool Kit full of a variety of processes and ideas to help you hone in on what it is you desire.  Do stay tuned!  I cannot wait to continue this conversation.
