So there I was, sitting on my luxury hotel balcony on a Spanish Island, glass of wine in one hand, phone in the other while working (well basically cashing in the profits from my weekly investments).
The world has now become my office when I'm not working at home and I couldn't be happier.
I couldn't help thinking back to my days working in a dusty factory and then a busy furniture store. Those two jobs had me working hard for not great pay and at the end I even had to endure back surgery for a prolapsed disc caused wrapping two sofas.
Those days were stress filled with no time to really relax. My work day felt like a curse. My lifestyle was placed around my work. Work was always an annoyance or a worry in the back of my mind.
But, back to Spain, and it all seems a lifetime away. My work now revolves around my lifestyle.
I was staying in this beautiful place in Puerto Santiago with one of the most stunning views I have ever seen of the mountain cliffs overlooking the pure blue sea. One of those views that is so magnificent that it hardly looks real.
Not much time was given to work that week at all, and most of my time was spent with my wife and little boy.
That's how my life is now. I get to see the two of them throughout the day rather than a quick exchange before racing off to work and, if I was lucky with traffic, getting back just in time to put the little one to bed.
Now I love Mondays and Tuesdays and.... well you get the point.
I have a loving family around me and this little week away reinforced my feeling that life needs to be lived and I'm glad I've started to take part in life rather than wishing the grey days away.
I hope you love your Mondays too.
