1 CORINTHIANS 3:16-17

Do you not know that you are God's temple, and that God's spirit dwells in you?  If anyone destroys God's temple, God will destroy him.  For God's temple is holy, and you are that temple.

'You are what you eat' as the saying goes.  Your body reflects what you feed it.  So what do you feed your body?

A third of the population of the U.S.A are obese.  The 'fattest' country on the planet.  Unfortunately, many other countries are following this dangerous trend.  In the U.S.A and in the U.K, more money is being spent on the treatment of obesity-related diseases, than on the treatment of cancer.

These are shocking statistics.  So what can we do about it!  Unfortunately, we are not going to get much help from those companies that want to sell us the junk.  Therefore, the answer is in our own discipline.  We have to develop our own healthy diet plan, as well as a fitness plan, and stick to it.  Read my earlier article on how to live a healthy lifestyle.

If you know that you have a weakness for a particular food that is unhealthy, simply stop buying it.  Replace the item or items, with a healthy option.  Think in terms of your medium-term and long-term health.  The suffering caused by an unhealthy diet and a unhealthy lifestyle, is so not worth living through, for the sake of momentary pleasure.

Your body is a temple of the most high God.  Treat it with the respect and honour it deserves.  You have been blessed with the most incredible piece of machinery in the whole universe.
