SIR RICHARD BRANSON
Sir Richard Branson is the founder of the Virgin Group, which controls over 400 companies. He is an investor and philanthropist, who goes against the grain. I have such respect and admiration for what he does and what he stands for, that I want to dedicate an article to him.
Branson started as a business entrepreneur at just 17 years of age. Now at 67, he has been in business for 50 years and says that he is still learning. What I admire about him most, is that his whole life has been about making drastic changes to industries, to bring about his ideas and the ideas of others.
I follow him on Twitter, and he recently tweeted that, he thought it was not a good idea to go into business to make money. This sums him up brilliantly, because all the projects that he starts or gets involved with, are all about making this world a better place for us all to live in. I won't give examples, because the list would be too long, but his philosophy behind the projects that he is involved in, are about service to others and making people's lives richer.
Everything that he touches, prospers and succeeds and I believe that it is due to the fact that, it is always about the greater good and because of that, Almighty God blesses his efforts. Another aspect that I admire about him, is that he is totally genuine, there isn't any premeditated choreography with him. You can tell that he doesn't plan speeches or have any prescripted messages, he just 'shoots straight from the hip'. I absolutely love that about him, because we live in such an image-conscious world, but he just 'does his thing'.
With Branson, everything is from the heart. This is all depicted in the way that he dresses, the way that he talks, and the way that he writes. The sheer amount of projects that he is involved in, is staggering and is testimony to his philosophy of service to others. He fulled deserved his knighthood for his service to humanity.
What a refreshing change he is, and a shining example of success through service to others.
