PART I - INTRO
The whole idea behind this blog is to catalog and display all the various, valuable and uplifting treatments, techniques, thoughts, and things that I have discovered, during my ongoing 18-month journey since I was rushed to intensive care while in Nepal. That’s when I was told for the first time that I have stage 5 chronic kidney failure with hypertensive crisis.
It was all news to me!!!
My genuine hope is that others who have had results with their own methods and discoveries will collaborate here and we can build a place where everyone can communicate and share experiences and helpful insights so that we can inspire and encourage each other.
In my experience, hope is the biggest factor in getting out of bed in the morning and living my life as fully as I can. Especially while being subject to dialysis treatment. Otherwise, we are just suffering day-to-day in anticipation of dialysis and not living life and supporting our bodies and our spirits. There is hope, there are success stories and there are ways means that I'm writing about here that can and will improve your quality of life both physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually.
To my knowledge, nothing like the info within this blog exists in any one single place online. I sincerely wish that something you find here WILL make a difference in your life or the life of someone you know and love.

As one of my childhood heroes, Bruce Lee said: “ Adapt what is useful, reject what is useless and add what is essentially your own”. Whatever resonates with you should research further for yourself before you pull the trigger so you feel it’s the right move for you. Then listen to your body deeply and see what feedback you get.
I recommend coming back to this blog at different stages of your own journey because at different stages things may become more relevant. I remember I bought a ‘kidney disease recovery program’ online when all this happened and I flicked through it. I was more than a little overwhelmed because there was so much new content for me and I was just getting used to the diet and everything else and I was, at that time feeling drained ALL THE TIME. Recently, I started through all the material in the pack again and I thought it was brilliant. I was better able to digest the material because I had a better scope of practical experience.

ACUPUNCTURE – There are tones of articles online about the benefits of acupuncture for a whole myriad of major and minor issues, that also includes everything kidney. In my experience, it’s one of the really good therapies because it can affect the kidney from within the organ by manipulating the relative acupuncture points. I think it’s one of the few kinds of treatments that can internally stimulate and therefore directly influence the kidney.
Great for high bp, diabetes, anxiety poor appetite and digestive issues, sleep and much, much more. It’s worth having on your planner at least once a month!
How does acupuncture treat kidney disease?- according to Tongshantang Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine Beijing
"The main functions of acupuncture are dredging channels (unblocking stagnation) and meridians, eliminating blood and qi (life force energy) stasis so as to promote blood circulation and increase blood flow to the kidneys. This can greatly improve renal ischemia and hypoxia by providing enough blood, oxygen and other nutrition which can help prevent further renal damages and promoting repairing of damaged renal tissues and recovering renal functions.
Practicing acupuncture can also help relieve chronic renal pain and fatigue, improve appetite and sleep quality. It can also lower high blood pressure and much alleviate the patients' stress and make them feel relaxed and refreshed."
Any acupuncture I've ever had was relatively pain-free (for the most part) and quite soothing. It's something I actually really enjoy because while the needles are in life seems super chilled and I always feel like I'm in a good space. I know most people normally shy away from needles but the benefits most certainly outway the idea of being stuck.
So if you're on the edge then maybe now's a great time to take some action.
There's nothing more important and precious in life than health. As human beings, It's the greatest gift and our most valuable position.
When health fails it doesn't have to be misery, suffering, and woe is me.
I believe it's an opportunity!
The biggest opportunity we can have to realize life. Disease and ill health are a medium by which we can realign our bodies and our spirits and tune into ourselves and our environment.
