WISDOM

PROVERBS 4:7-9

The beginning of wisdom is:  Acquire wisdom;

And with all your acquiring, get understanding.

Prize her, and she will exalt you;

She will honour you if you embrace her.

She will place on your head a garland of grace;

She will present you with a crown of beauty.

The greatest knowledge you can acquire, is knowledge of yourself.  Self-knowledge or self-awareness, is the beginning of all wisdom.  When you understand why you think the way that you do, why you talk the way that you do, and why you act the way that you do, you start to understand yourself.  Going further and understanding what has shaped your mentality, you start to understand your purpose for being on this planet.

Learning about yourself, gives you the greatest satisfaction and fulfillment.  My own journey of self-awareness, has afforded me a very satisfying level of wisdom.  I look back on my life so far, and I can put the pieces of the puzzle together, to make sense of what has happened in my life.  After making a commitment to God in January 2015, my rise in self-awareness and spiritual maturity has been meteoric.  For which, I am eternally grateful to Almighty God and his son the Lord Jesus Christ.

My wish for you is that you gain great wisdom, first of all by learning about yourself and your life's purpose.  This knowledge this wisdom, is the greatest that you can acquire.  Once you have started along this path, then you start to learn more about other people too, which gives you greater understanding and compassion towards them.  As your knowledge and wisdom of yourself and others grows, your sense of peace and tranquility increases, as well as the broadening of your mind, which in turn makes you less judgemental.

Listen to your inner voice.  It only speaks quietly to you, so you have to get quiet with yourself to hear it.  This is the importance of meditation.  Take time each day to meditate, in order to be guided by your inner voice, from which great wisdom is afforded to you.
