I hope your week is going well so far.
Up again at 6am and I just did some physio exercises this morning to start getting used to them without rushing myself.
I had a physio appointment last night and what a revelation, my lumpy achillies is not actually the problem and I don’t have plantar fasciitis either (shock face emoji), I had to do a few tests which confirmed this and finally I have the answer. Needless to say I was quite relieved however, you will never guess what the problem is………(drumroll) MY BIG TOE !!!!!! I know, weird right, can you believe it, all that discomfort is caused by my big toe and a hyper mobile forefoot.
Apparently, I am not distributing my weight through my foot as I should when walking or running, which has caused stress on other areas of the body which have been taking up the slack. I feel like a huge weight has been lifted especially with the knowledge that I will be able to run again :-)
So, every morning now before I do any exercise I will be doing my physio exercises to warm up. Whilst I have my treatment I will have to shorten my workouts in the morning so that I can fit it all in, so it will be physio exercises then 15-20 mins of a workout. I will still do the kettlebell and core workouts but just not do the last 10 mins of the video. I will also do some of the shorter workouts with the squats, sumo squats, Russian twists etc. for 3 rounds with 60 seconds in between as they would be just perfect.
Once I am back on track I aim to do the couch to 5k which the physiotherapist recommended as a good way to start again as I will literally be starting from scratch. I am so excited about this as I have missed running so much.
