A New Challenge-A Sketch A Day
Hello Everyone,
Well it has been a while since my 90 day freedom blog challenge that i set myself.
I have been busy making some changes to further that freedom feeling and shake my life up a bit. I have moved out of my rented flat and back to my parents to save some money to buy my own place, which was a hard thing to do as an adult in my early 40's. I also started my fitness up again and in 14 months lost 4 stone and got myself into a great place of mobility and physical strength and i am fitter in my 40's than i was in my 20's!
Drawing
I have also rekindled my joy of drawing, something that i used to do as a teenager but have not touched for 15 plus years other than the odd sketch. It is something that has always been at the back of my mind and never forgotten, especially fashion illustration. I did some fashion drawing as part of my degree but i always struggled with it, it was not easy for me but i enjoyed it. What i did not enjoy was the 'rules' put on it required by my degree so when that ended so did the drawing.
I always feel enjoyment when i am drawing evenif i have to give myself a 'shove' to do it, when i start i get into the 'zone' a bit like meditation.
A Mini Challenge
I set myself another challenge back in October 2019 to do a sketch a day for a month, which i did and posted on my @zoebadgerart instagram page. Here are a few of those sketches.

The New Challenge
So as we are now well into a new decade i have set myself another challenge...............
To do a sketch every day for a whole year!
I know it's a big one but i needed to do something that scared me a little and also I wanted to improve my drawing skills. The subject of the sketches will likely be fashion illustration based but also of drawing faces and figures but also anything else I feel like.
I will post each sketch on my @zoebadgerart instagram account and write a blog post each week to share how it has gone. There are probably a lot of artists out there where like has taken over and they have forgotton the joy that art and drawing can bring. I want to draw you out (pardon the pun!) and reconnect you with a forgotten passion. Follow along for the journey, you never know what might be discovered!
Here's to a year of creative fun.
Zoe
