Let's start this blog with a quote from the fantastic Zig Ziglar

'People often say that motivation doesn't last. Well, neither does bathing - that's why we recommend it daily.'

That quote is so true and if your employees aren't receiving prays or even inspiration then it is going to become a very messy and untidy work environment. Make sure you get our your motivation soap and rub it all over your employees. I'm telling you from experience they need and most definitely daily!!

When you can create an environment in which employees can attain their goals and acknowledge their views and thoughts are recognised, you will most definitely boost productivity, office vibes, and engagement with staff and managers. The reason for this I believe is that, once you feel appreciated and your thought makes a difference it allows the employee to feel more confident in the process and keep other members of the team positive throughout the day.

8 Tips to Help Employees Grow and Develop

Put these 8 pointers into your work schedule to help employees grow and your company development:

1. Encourage Self-development with all employees
High achieving employees are not satisfied with boring targets. If given the right guidance in their self-development, they will become the future leaders of your organisation and be confident in teaching newcomers a more comfortable and more effective way of how the business model works. Quote: We should not give up, and we should not allow the problem to defeat us. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam

2. Create a development plan
Teach your employees to establish goals that are aligned with their strengths, interest and experience with their intentions noted, as well as with the overall business strategy. Establish goals and expectations to help them set their sights on career opportunities and progression. Quote: The best preparation for tomorrow is doing your best today. H. Jackson Brown, Jr.

3. Couple up employees with mentors - Yep that right
Find someone who is in a similar position to a staff member. Mentoring relationships can nurture positive and productive working environments just as much as helping employees learn and gain confidence and improve in their jobs. When coached with encouragement, your employees can help your business adapt to modifications and approach the next level of progress with all of the positivity in the world because they have the confidants to master every challenge. Quote: My success was due to good luck, hard work, and support and advice from friends and mentors. But most importantly, it depended on me to keep trying after I had failed. Mark Warner

4. Ask them, how they see the company improving. In Monday Meetings
Instead of trying to presume what’s most important to them, pull a chair at their office or bring up in weekly meetings with them to find out what they value in the workplace and themselves. Doing the unexpected will show your employees and your company that there is room for change. Also shows your willing to listen and take action to make a change. Quote: Doing things outside of the traditional fashion gives me the opportunity to bring a fresh eye to unexpected markets. Cynthia Rowley

5. Offer nibbles or food in the workplace.
Would you rather your employee eat healthily and enjoy organic foods? Remember you can't be productive if your belly is rumbling most of the day! It may seem simple, but sometimes all people need to be happy is just so food! Hold your horses though–employees also have to be reasonably satisfied with their jobs. Otherwise, they will eat and not get anything done after. Eating food does make a huge difference, ask yourself the question then ask it to your employees. When are you more productive? Starving or just finished your lunch. Quote: Your life is your canvas, and you are the masterpiece. There are a million ways to be kind, fantastic, fabulous, creative, bold, and exciting. Kerli

6. If you want them to grow hand out assignments - make them fun!
Try and show them that moving out of your comfort zones can be a massive step in the right direction for individuals. Employees can’t move forward if they don’t grow, and they can’t become better within themselves if they never leave their comfort zones. Quote: The greatest things in life tend to happen outside our comfort zones, and doubting your ability to step outside of your comfort zone will keep you stuck. Amy Morin

7. Trust goes a long way in employment
If you want to help and develop your employees, then trust them to do their duties and projects by getting out of the way. Let them know what your expectations are by giving them guidelines, but there is always room to think outside the box [ ] Show them you believe in their judgement. By doing this you are giving them greater control over the tasks, but it also teaches them that trustworthiness and belief are essential in your organisation to help themselves and the company growing to better things.

8. Offer online training or workshops
Most specialists want to keep training and to improve their skills so they can proceed in their careers. Support and boost that hunger to learn by offering training programs, mentoring and tuition assistance for work-related courses as it's going to improve your final work and also grow your employees to advance into higher and more demanding roles easier

Please note that individual results will vary and aren’t guaranteed from the help of my advice, guidance, resources, I recommend or provide.
It’s no different from mastering a sport. Not everyone who starts a game can become an Olympic athlete straight away; it takes commitment, dedication and determination to succeed in any field. There are those who will receive all the information on board, and there's those who won't, but you know your employees more than me writing this, so adapt these techniques to cater for your workers.
