The basics of a sales funnel

Why should you set up sales funnels in your business?

The answer is simple: It will do WONDERS for your sales.

And the good news is that most sales funnels are super easy to make and you just have to set it up once. So you'll save valuable time that you can spend on scaling your business or progress in other ways.

I've written an overview of the building blocks of a basic sales funnel that is super easy to implement - even if you're new to building funnels.

With drag and drop and easy to customize software like ClickFunnels, you can literally be up and running in a couple of hours or less.

The building blocks of sales funnel

Most businesses would benefit immediately from a so-called opt-in funnel, where you ask people for their email address and give them something valuable (e-book, video course, webinar etc.) in return.

Thereby you build a list of people who are interested in your business and want to hear more about you and your offers via email.

Here are the basic building blocks of an opt-in funnel:

An offer is not just a sale or a discount. An offer has to make your business stand out from the rest.

A great offer is a bundle of products, that gives the buyer extra value. Value that they won't be able to find elsewhere because no one else thought of this amazing combination of products or services that meets their exact needs.

An example could be not just a free trial of ClickFunnels. That would be nice, but it would be amazing to get a free trial of Clickfunnels combined with your first affiliate training funnel (done for you so you can learn and earn at the same time).

Do you see what I mean?

Basic sales funnels consist of two pages.

A landing page (or squeeze page), where people opt in and give you their email address:

And a thank you page, where you thank people for leaving their email address:

The pages consist of different elements. The elements could be:

- Image or video

- An opt-in form

- A download button

- Headlines and subheadlines. Some pages have more text, but if you don't have a very specific plan with this, you should keep it simple to a headline and a subheadline.

Funnel software companies like ClickFunnels have already done half of the work for you with tested and proven templates to make your funnel convert.

The funnel

Very simply, your funnel consists of the two (or more) pages with all the elements you put there.

We call this the front end. When a person takes your offer and thereby signs up to your email list, they enter your funnel and become a lead.

Now it's time to add more value and follow up with your leads by email. You can share some valuable insights with them and you can make more offers. You can also invite them to a webinar, where you provide value and get the opportunity to sell to the attendees. If you build a relationship of trust and value with people on your list, they are more likely to buy from you than when they just entered your funnel.

In this way, your whole funnel becomes a very powerful tool in your online business toolbox.

What else do you need?

To free up your time and automate you funnel even more, you need an autoresponder.

An autoresponder is basically a piece of software that sends out a series of pre-written emails when a person opts into your funnel.

A cheap and ambitions autoresponder, used by thousands of fellow marketers, is AWeber

I use it myself for all of my lists and I've integrated it smoothly with ClickFunnels.

So, as you see it has never been easier to get started with sales funnels and they have a great potential to help you skyrocket your business. The software is fun and easy to use and if you get stuck, they have exceptional and fast support to get you moving.
