Stop Working Hard and Instead Work Smart.

Freedom Mompreneur by Design - helping you to work smart instead of hard

Hi, JoAnne, here and in today's blog, I want to explore the difference between working hard and working smart.

To start, I invite you to watch this short video:

What did you think about the story in the video? For years now, the stereotypical idea of getting to success was that you must work hard like Bruno in the story. Looking around, even in this day and age, this idea is still very much in force as you'll notice that there are a lot of people working hard and in the end going nowhere.

Depending on where you live you’re earning cap is about $25/ hour from the neck down.  From the neck up there is no cap and your earning ability is only limited by the size of your dreams and drive.

But wait a minute, you probably are thinking: JoAnne, are you slightly contradicting yourself? After all, Pablo in the story had to work quite hard, especially in the initial stages of his pipeline. In part that's true, we do have to put in a little bit of sweat equity in any endeavour, the key difference was that Pablo sweat equity was limited to a short period of time until his system was up and working for him to earn income while if Bruno wasn't working, he wasn't earning.

It may seem obvious, but You will never succeed and make your dreams reality by sitting on your ass and thinking about your dreams and what-ifs if you don’t back it up with action. Smart and Focused Action!

Working Hard with brute force is easy and almost a no-brainer while Working Smart takes having a dream, vision and sometimes being ridiculed by others who are still entrapped by the old way of thinking.

So the million dollar question now remains:  Are you working smart or hard? If you have dreams, are you taking the action proportionate to the size of your dream?

The choice and results of your choice is up to you.  If you have huge dreams be prepared to climb a steeper learning curve to get to where you want to be. Be prepared to be ostracised somewhat by perhaps former friends or relatives who may understand or support your vision.

Decide to work smart or to work hard

The question you will need to ask yourself is, “Is it worth it?”

Well ask yourself questions like these:

Is it worth not going out for dinner for a year and using that money instead to invest if it means the rest of your life you’ll be able to afford going out to dinner every night?

Is it worth it temporarily giving up things you love to do in order to build a business that will buy you time to do anything you want whenever you want?

Is it worth it working through the summer holidays to build a solid foundation in your business that will buy you a lifetime of opportunities to travel the world with your family practically care free?

For me, it's a definite Yes!

I am happy to sacrifice now for success later on particularly if it will allow me to empower my children. At the end of the day though, actions speak louder than words and it will only be in our follow-through that we will get the results we desire. Yet so many people just won't follow through. They know what and why they need to do something yet they stay stuck. Avoid that crowd and keep asking yourself questions like above to move you and keep you in action!

Avoid that crowd and keep asking yourself questions like above to move you and keep you in action!

Make your choice and then own that choice.  Own that choice by committing to it and see what happens to your life.

Remember though, making no choice is a choice and not a delay and your choices go both ways! What you focus on grows, what you feed in your mind expands and becomes permanent, becomes your reality.

So Instead of working hard, let's work smart!

To your success
