Passion to online business💕

Building a business from things that fire up your soul can trigger a renewed sense of purpose.

A recent Gallup Poll found a staggering: 85% of adults who work full time are not engaged, or, simply hate their job or lost their passion.

Think about that. Look around your workplace: for every 10 of your colleagues, more than 8 are either “unhappy” or “don’t really care anymore”. That’s 8 out of 10 people who are spending more than 1/3 of their lives, at a place they are either “meh” about or completely unhappy in.

In my own experience, I had started to get nervous that as I get older I couldn't honestly see myself doing this job for the rest of my life.

It was time to find an outlet that I could really look forward to building.

So I set out on a journey to discover exactly how I could start building my new business online.

I began noticing colleagues who were expressing their own levels of work fatigue while my own spark began to return. A colleague had observed, "the energy in the room picks up when you come in...". And I can honestly say it was because I'd found my purpose. I was creating something that would free me from the constraints of working for someone else.

Here’s how staying at the job you hate is affecting you:

  • You’ve been feeling low and sad more often
  • You’re getting sick more often because your immunity system is low
  • You’ve noticed you’re struggling to keep the weight off your stomach, neck, and face
  • You’re quick to bite peoples heads off, so your relationship with your spouse, partner, children and other loved ones is taking a huge hit

And how about these telltale signs at work?

  • You’re not getting to work on time - It’s the very last place you want to be so you’re just clocking in on the hour or shortly after the start time. Even when you arrive, the first stop is the tearoom to make yourself a coffee.
  • You haven’t been putting in 100% - You’re either taking longer than normal to perform tasks you’re normally competent in, or, you’re getting pulled up by work colleagues or supervisors about not completing tasks correctly - you've lost your focus
  • The only reason you’re going to work is that you’ve run out of sick leave - which you used up way too quickly
  • You’re short with customers who are simply asking for help - you don't have the same patience you used to

If you can relate to these, be kind to yourself.

Chances are you have simply outgrown a job you once enjoyed.

It’s just a sign that you are ready now to move on to other things. Move onto something that is more in line with your values, your passions, and your skills.

Here are things you can do now to get your Mojo back:

  • Reading this article is a great step to developing self-awareness around this issue

Spiritual Guru Eckhart Tolle author of The Power of Now stated: “Awareness is the greatest agent for change”.

Awareness though needs to be without any attachment to judgment. You can then start to take steps to make the changes you desire.

  • Uncover your BIG WHY?

What does uncover Your Big Why have to do with anything? Well, answering this question allows you to unpack your true purpose.

When you understand what really makes you happy, you can start to work out the pathway to an idea that is aligned with your Big Why.

You may even be able to find a different job with your current employer that will make working more bearable while you build your side business.

Certified career coach Lise Stransky recently quoted in CNBC  “research shows that employees who feel stimulated at work report higher life satisfaction and better job performance.”

What if there are no jobs that fit my Why?
Sometimes starting your own venture on the side will give you the stimulation you crave to keep working in your day job. It may even give you the patience to keep going with your job for now. After all, you still need to keep a roof over your head and to cover all your basic needs while you develop your new venture.

The door you're about to open to live your purpose will be transformational on all levels: your mental health, your physical health, your relationships and one day even your account balance.

Embrace the opportunity to learn your Big Why so you can recharge your life.

So go ahead, remove that dust cloth off the easel and start painting again. Take out those tools and start building again. Sharpen your pencil and start writing again. Take a course or program to develop your skills more.

Re-ignite that fire in your belly and start creating. There are so many ways you can re-awaken the passion you once had. Creating a Soul-Driven business is a good place to start.
