SMILE: An Indication of Happiness 5 0f 65

Below is one of my favourite quotes introduced to me through Landmark Worldwide, which I assert, will have you consider a smile, at the very least?! J

“True Joy In Life”

“This is the true joy in life, being used for a purpose recognized by yourself as a mighty one. Being a force of nature instead of a feverish, selfish little clod of ailments and grievances, complaining that the world will not devote itself to making you happy. I am of the opinion that my life belongs to the whole community and as long as I live, it is my privilege to do for it what I can. I want to be thoroughly used up when I die, for the harder I work, the more I live. I rejoice in life for its own sake. Life is no brief candle to me. It is a sort of splendid torch which I have got hold of for the moment and I want to make it burn as brightly as possible before handing it on to future generations.”

George Bernard Shaw

I tend to smile often when I read ‘SPLENDID TORCH’ and hey, that may be because of my fire breathing background!

From a context (read more here) of transformation for the word; smile, I assert that much of the work I have learned over the years with these personal development courses has had me ‘smile in recognition’. As ontology is the study of being, it is no wonder I smile often, because I so see myself in others and hey, I am not the only one with these thoughts!

If the ‘sharing of oneself’ is one access to transformation, then often, after I have shared, a smile forms across my lips, as I am so present to what I have shared. Indeed, perhaps a simple smile provides an easy access to being happy. In Landmark, we joke, “ahh you have told your face you are happy!” Often, when someone says they are fine, we will quip:

“Well can you inform your face then!?”

A smile across your face I am imagining right now, as I find it amusing and I trust you do to?!
