Control Your Day

Control Your Day...

How do you start off your day? Are you in control of it, or does your day have control of you? Do you follow and/or emulate successful people? When you associate or attempt to, you will gain a more positive outlook on your future, You will look at things in a new light. Study the people who you would like to be more like. Don't envy them. Learn from them. You will never have what someone else has. You will only get or become what you are willing to work for and to sacrifice to acquire.

Plan to Start...

When you outline your day, think of what task you can perform that will get you closer to the ultimate outcome you are seeking. Whether it be financial, emotional, spiritual, or whatever. Plan on spending an hour or two on that task, preferably in the morning. For the other tasks, you may have to do, do the ones you don't care to do first. This will give you a sense of accomplishment and a better outlook on the rest of your day. The hard stuff is out of the way.

Throw away your to-do-list...

Use a calendar or day planner instead of a to-do-list. A statistic is that 41% of the things on a person's to-do-list never get done. An outline in a planner is a much better source to focus on. It will give you a point of reference that you can look back on. Don't get down on yourself if you don't get everything finished. Let's hope there is always tomorrow. But with an outline, you have a better chance of finishing the tasks at hand because you can judge the time it will take to finish each task. As you go through your day, take a little time to go over what you would like to accomplish tomorrow. Don't dwell on it. Keep your focus on what is at hand, but possibly jot down items that you would like to take care of at a later date so that you don't forget them at the most inopportune time. At the end of the day reflect on what has been finished, What is yet to be done and make a note of things that you would like to put down for tomorrows plan. This can be done at night before retiring or in the morning when you are fresh. Whichever works best for you. You know your most productive time of the day.

Take Time for Yourself...

Take a little time for yourself and your enjoyment. If you can't take some time for what makes you feel good about yourself, you are doing this for naught. You need to recharge your batteries and refocus so that you can be alert and stay on top of your game. We can, at times, be our own worst enemy. Even though there are sacrifices to be made, putting everything into work is not always the best thing to do. Life should be enjoyed, not be looked at as a drudgery. You are you. Make attainable goals and work towards them at a good pace for you. You should always be able to look forward to the next day. This is the joy of life.

My time is about gone for today. Onward and upward. Till next time, I hope to see you on the road to happy destiny.
