6 Ideas on How to Make 2019 Your Best Year Ever
Is 2019 the year to achieve your life goals? Are you in the process of making resolutions for the new year? Do you want to start this year living your life to the fullest, no matter what?
Although most of us start with our best intentions to stick to our new year resolutions, when we look at our long list, we finish feeling overwhelmed by the number of tasks we want to accomplish and by February we start losing momentum.
If you want to change your lives for the better, there must be a better way to adhere to your goals. Look at those goals not as resolutions but as powerful and empowering tasks, by focusing on this, you will find more effective ways to keep on going and will feel a lot more motivated to achieve the life we love.
In this article, I would like to share five ideas that have been helping me as well as some links of valuable articles to encourage you to make 2019 your best year ever.
IMPROVE YOUR FOCUS
One of the challenges for me has been to remain focus on the task at hand. As I am in charge of the whole management and household duties, many of the things I need to do come into my mind often. As a result, I could easily get distracted. Doing many things at the same time was adding confusion.
That was until I received advice from Abraham-Hicks:
"Focus on the most important specifics of what you want in any particular moment. Doing that brings clarity, power, and speed. Identify what it is you most want so that you give it your attention and, therefore, draw power unto that."
MEDITATE
Do you find it easy to control your thoughts when you meditate? I am still working on it, but now instead of getting discouraged, I acknowledge my feelings, relax, breath and align. Meditation is withdrawing your focus from the physical conscious world and an allowing your attention to aligning with the Inner World.
Meditation purifies and nourishes from within, keeps you calm, increases your attention span and can bring about a real personal transformation.
To appreciate the rewards of meditation, practice it regularly. You can start with only a few minutes on a daily basis. Once it becomes part of your daily routine, you will notice how meditation sharpens your mind and awareness.
This article by the Art of Living Organisation, Australia explains the full benefits of meditation. Hope it gives you the motivation to make it part of your daily routine.
EXERCISE
Other ways to help your focus is to have a daily exercise routine. I find it so compelling. Working out first thing in the morning promotes mental clarity, improves your attention span, and you will feel invigorated and energised.
Exercise also creates new neurons in the brain which enable us to process and store information more efficiently.
A new study, from ScienceDaily, has found that aerobic exercise can improve memory function and maintain brain health as we age. It goes on to say by Mr Firth that "When you exercise you produce a chemical called brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF), which may help to prevent age-related decline by reducing the deterioration of the brain."
GOOD EATING HABIT
Switching to healthier food can be challenging and often require changing your mindset. However, with the right amount of determination and some basic tips you can slowly develop healthier eating habits.
According to HealthDirect Australia, the amount of each food you need will vary during your life, depending on factors such as how active you are and whether or not you are growing, pregnant, breastfeeding and more.
In their Balanced Diet article, you will find simple guidelines from qualified experts on how easy it is to have a balanced diet, nutritious and healthy food.
RELAX YOUR BODY
When was the last time you take time to give your body a break? Just noticing how you are feeling in the moment and paying attention to different parts of your body? These small and simple steps will make a difference.
- Take slow, deep breaths to bring your body into a state of peace and relaxation
- Have a warm bath
- Listen to your favourite music
- Write positive thoughts in your journal
- Take breaks every 30 minutes to clear your mind to perform your daily tasks more efficiently
- Go for a walk
- Get a good night sleep each night will make you feel more alert and energetic.
TAKE CONTROL
This year is the time to take control of your future. No more feelings of fear and indecision.
Learn to embrace the challenging moments. They are there to teach you, these situations are happening specifically to give you guidance. Walk through them, your path will get clearer and can indeed pave your way for a breakthrough. Being aware of this is empowering.
Go for what you deeply long for. You are in control of your thoughts and have the right mindset to create the right feelings, actions and results. Take responsibility for the way your life is going.
Have an open mind and an open heart. Choose what is right for you and go for it.
For months I have been following these steps, it has not been an easy journey as it all comes down to have the determination to follow through. Knowing Your Why will make everything more comfortable and will keep you motivated.
Do you find that some of them are easier than others? You don’t have to do any of these ideas alone. Share your thoughts and challenges. You know where to find me.
With much appreciation
