Mental Mind Map Hell Fix
![]()
Chased by a pack of crocodiles watched by your naked school teacher and parents. A gigantic rock stops your escape and pins you to the ground as boiling lava streams towards your trapped head.
It’s only a dream but most people have stuff like this going on every night, not really doing them any good.
Let’s knock this on the head and start changing a few horror stories to better scripts with pleasant results.
Firstly, get a pad of paper and pencil by your bed(pencil is more reliable than pen).
Within the initial three seconds of waking start to jot down all the thoughts you collect. Expect mostly negative as this is likely the content of your dream. Keep going, spill it all out.
See what you wrote and there is going to be a prong of thoughts like a road junction going to hell and other places. It’s you so you know how to identify it.
This is the key.
The bad news. This is not fixing anything, just finding the escape route. It’s a start but the next part is really boring. Wait. Yes wait for 90 seconds. Why?
I don’t know, just wait. Don’t do anything. Do not act on your impulse. You are waiting for the evil thoughts to dance around the stage of your mind and get a little tired. You will not see it at first but eventually you will say to yourself ‘you guys got me into a lot of trouble yesterday’ and you’re not helping me.’
Now with that recognition you are about ready to get on with the day.
What’s this all about?
I call it cutting things off at the pass. You know the bad things are coming or have already arrived. You need to deal with them like uninvited guests at a party. Throwing them out would make a scene. Just change the music and drinks and pretty sure they will get bored and leave, without a fuss. Leaving you to mingle with your true friends and have a good time with no fights or drama.
