Re-write your story

Very often we are blaming our parents, siblings, other family members, teachers, neighbors, our fellow peers and whoever, for our problems. He did this, she said that, there were fights, nobody understood me. We feel less than, that there is something wrong with us, we don't feel appreciated and we swallowed a lot of unwanted feelings, trying to fit in. Sounds familiar? Pointing finger is satisfying for a moment, but it will not shift the responsibility on somebody else, it will just support the stuck emotion, bringing more havoc into our lives.

There is a way

One idea was to write everything on the paper, preferably by hand and then, without even reading it, throw it away, burn it, tear it, drown it. If we would do it again and again, there is some relief - to the point when the situation repeats itself, and we overflow with emotions again.

There is a new way

How about writing a different story? What was, and more importantly, what is. I was listening to Abraham Hicks, where we were advised to acknowledge the past and related emotions and then speak about our situation, our goals in a different language. Re-write the story. Switch your focus from the negative to the supporting, positive, loving memories, and thought about today's situation. There is always something that can lift the spirit and change the way we feel.
