"Hope is important because it can make the present moment less difficult to bear. If we believe that tomorrow will be better, we can bear a hardship today." Thich Nhat Hanh
So today I just wanted to dive a little bit deeper in the quote Thich Nhat Hanh has made.
First, ask yourself this question, do you dread tomorrow because you're having a bad day today.
My answer would have been Yes a few months ago, but now it would be No because I've been wanting to learn and understand more about the conscious and subconscious mind and becoming more aware of the present moment which is an incredible feeling. The way I have learnt this is by bringing mindfulness and meditations into my daily life.
Anyway, I'll talk about that in another blog maybe!!
To me, this quote impacted me because I never understood the term present moment and how much it can change your life and daily tasks. For example, there is a disagreement at work, and you manifest that annoying feeling, and you hold that disappointment for the rest of the day. Whereas if you take a step back and focus on the present moment and breathe through the challenges, you'll be able to think positively and bring positive thoughts to the table to deflate this heighten atmosphere of worries, anger, doubt and negative thoughts, so then you'll have better hope that tomorrow will be a better day.
Also if we have faith and hope that tomorrow will be a better day, even a positive day. We will be able to embrace the hardship of the work or environment today and possibly clam the atmosphere down to bring everyone back to the present moment so that the tensions around the office will have eased off to have better hope for tomorrow.
