Cracking The Entrepreneur Code
Cracking The Entrepreneur Code
This blog is about cracking the entrepreneur code and my experience over the last 4 years, going from corporate world to entrepreneur and then back to corporate world to entrepreneur and how I now know that I can and will crack the entrepreneur code and you can too!
In 2013, David, a baby boomer, took a step into the world of entrepreneurship, looking to crack the entrepreneur code. I had been working in teaching at the same establishment for 13 years and was feeling like a prisoner and not enjoying life.
At this time I spent many hours searching the internet looking for what I can only describe as opportunities and after seeing loads of false proises, one shone out above all others and the people and promise seemed amazing, so I went for it.
Is Entrepreneur Alien To You Too!
Entrepreneur seemed to be an alien term to me then, although I could see the potential and vision of the company founders and so became involved with a view to becoming that entrepreneur and cracking the entrepreneur code.
I continued with my 9 to 5 teaching job and felt like a prisoner, whilst dipping my toe in the water with the entrepreneurial stuff and that was where the problem was. If you want to crack the entrepreneur code you have to fully commit and believe in what you are doing, dipping your toe in the water does not cut it and it did not for me.
I continued to survive on my monthly pay check and had little to invest in my business for marketing - the key to cracking the entrepreneural code - although I did not realise it at the time.
Guess What Happened?
So guess what happened, it did not happen for me and it was nobody's fault but my own. I did leave the job in education when redundancy was offered and spent a year or so enjoying a life of playing at entrepreneur, and eventually the money ran out and I fell back into the hamster wheel.
I spent some time working for a national supermarket delivering groceries which was bearable as a job, although paid very poorly on minimum wage and then went back into teaching, earning more, but adding an hours travel on the end of each days 8 hours of work.
The irony of this teaching job is that it is in a custodial environment, yes a prison, where I am locked up each and every day with 20 foot fences topped with razor wire all around - how could I be more of a prisoner of the corporate world?
Need To Become An Entrepreneur!
The need to become an entrepreneur and crack the entrepreneur code has never gone away and I have recently re-engaged with my original company and their development is astounding and I know the future is bright for me.
I am starting to build my online business and this is my first blog of many. I think of it as a neo blog, a new beginning blog and the start of something amazing. I have re-connected with a community, a number of friends and mentors and they have all developed and are leading happy fulfilled lives and I am on that path too.
Now, I don't consider all that has gone before as failure, more as a learning experience and I know there is much more learning and experience to come with much change as an individual.
99% - What Is Your Purpose ?
My friend and mentor Jay always said that we all have 99% of what we need to succeed and the final 1% is finding our purpose in life. I fully agree with this and ask you to think about what your purpose in life is.
Having spent 40 years in the corporate hamster wheel I know that my own purpose is to live a lifestyle of freedom and to release others to do the same so they do not become comfortable and live that same 40 year cycle.
My final question to you as a reader of this blog is are you going to remain a prisoner or will you step out and tread the path of the entrepreneur. Let me know your perspective, I would love to hear from you!
Wishing you freedom in your life always.
David
