I Hate Babies

I had a baby.

My Mother had a baby.

My Grandmother had a baby.

My Great-Grandmother had a baby, yesterday.

Which one of these babies would you like to see?

And you only get to see it for 3 seconds.

Difficult choice huh?

Let's face it, babies are pretty much all the same. See one, seen them all, right?

If you say no, you're in denial.

Remember when a friend pulled up with their baby buggy and rolls down the cover to reveal a  sleeping baby. 'Awh...how sweet' you say but what you're actually saying is 'I don't care'. Really nobody cares, except the mother, father and probably the grandmothers.

So why is everyone posting baby pics online, especially on social media.

Is the same as posting pics of your lunch. I do that..haha. I know, i'm such a nutter. I do it less these days as i got so wound up seeing other people posting their meals.

Is this not what social media is for? It may have been but it sure is not now. We need to wake up and use these platforms to share better things. If your baby has three heads, then wow, that's cool and should be shared. Otherwise leave it out.

What else is truly annoying. Holiday pics? Does anyone care that you had the time of your life? Whilst they are sitting at their office job, hating every minute. Seeing you jumping into a blue lagoon from a palm tree naked, it's not going to make them feel any better.

So what should we be posting. Moaning articles like this?

How to quit that job and tell your boss where to put this mile high pile of files.

Just anything that is going to help other people. Take them away from their misery. Show them a better life. Relate to them. Not, here's my new sports car, house, spouse. etc.  Maybe better to share- 'Here's the first thing i did after my divorce'. Or 'How I nearly died eating sugar'.  Which is what i was going to write about until a baby jumped onto my lap.

Do i really hate babies? I just don't get it. If it's mine, then it's unique. Otherwise not interested.

I have started deleting my food pics. I was excited at the time I took them but as time passed, they just didn't look that exciting. Did they really help anyone? Probably not. Inspire them? I doubt it.

I had little idea what web 2.0 was or 3.0 or whatever .0 they created but it's about progression.  We all like progression but how do we allow ourselves to thrive. The social in media is reminiscent of the school classroom. Some bright sparks doing well and pleasing the teacher and the exam board. A lot being average with no particular qualities and some real trouble makers at the back. Those guys causing so many problems that eventually the bright ones end up leaving and going to a different school. Then the average ones get dragged down with the squabble at the back. Just mayhem.

Is this good for our society. Is it good for our social interactions. What is the solutions to shutting up the trash talk. Take responsibility. Are they teaching etiquette at school. Social Media etiquette.

I witnessed a guy in central London a few years ago, right after the bombings. He was walking around saying anti-muslim and racist things. This was a public place and nobody challenged him. We all thought he was crazy. Who would do such a thing. Yet we see it all the time online. Mostly anonymously.  Don't we love anonymous. Just whack a few offensive things on here and watch the comments pile up, or down.

Quality, yes quality. Go on. Slag me off. I'm just saying it but we are all to blame. Let's try to bring the tone of what we say more into the things that don't trivialise our lives. I'm not saying don't talk about war or politics but let's not be in a squabble at the back of the class. Let's keep the bright sparks here and converse them them. Maybe the idiots at the back do have something to share. They just need to know how to put it best. And the geniuses can help us all out.
