Kick Spark Your Life - Part 1
If you want things in your life to change you have to change things in your life. I've heard this so many times but words are only words until you put them into action. You can listen to positive stuff, read motivational books about how to change your life, how to be more successful, how to make money etc, but until you start putting those teachings into action nothing is going to change. Until you take life and your commitment to achieving your goals seriously, nothing is going to change.
Recently I set myself a 12 week challenge. To live a completely healthy, clean lifestyle and focus 100% on my set goals. I also wrote down detailed 12 week goals covering everything from fitness and health, my business, savings, and my overall sense of wellbeing. When I looked at myself and got really honest with myself the fact of the matter I saw was that up until recently I had been doing everything half heartedly, sporadically putting effort in here and there and seeing some results but always returning to the same distractions that make me lose sight of why I am doing what I am doing. And why am I doing what I'm doing? Why do I want all these things? Freedom. True and complete Freedom.
So I thought to myself, I wonder how well I could do at life if I cut out all those distractions for 12 weeks. What could I achieve if I was completely focused? So I made a decision. If I want things in my life to change I am going to have to change things in my life. The 12 week challenge is my kick start to the rest of my life and taking my commitments to myself seriously. To hold myself accountable, I am going to be transparent with you and share what I wrote so that at the end of the 12 weeks I can then share the results of my 12 week challenge. I hope this will inspire you to make positive changes in your life also.
To give you some scope I fly to Australia on the 18th November to see my family after 2 years away so I made that my finish date and here is what I have written to myself that I read at least every morning and every night along with my goals.
'I am committed to respect my body and mind for the next 12 weeks. Until I go to Australia I will not consume any alcohol or harmful substances. I will also eat a very healthy diet and refrain from refined sugar. I will exercise regularly and continue to build my upper body and core strength. I will focus 100% on my business and put my heart and soul into it. I will be successful. I will be able to travel to and from Australia whenever I want to see my family. I will be free and I will help other people to see that they can be free too.'
I wrote that last week on Monday 28th August. I have just completed my first week of my 12 week challenge and already I feel more focused, more determined and more excited about my future and what is going to take place in the next 12 weeks. I will write another blog at the end of the 12 weeks so you can see the results I have achieved by doing this challenge.
Dion and I made our business name Freedom Dash because we wanted to be free and to be honest at the start I was thinking only of myself and my own freedom from being an employee. That was the driving force. However, recently what has surprised me the most is that as I have gone along this journey and am realising how badly I want all these things for myself, I've realised that the most rewarding part of the journey will be the effect we are having on other people...and it is already happening.
I can see people around me, friends, work colleagues and housemates being inspired by what we are doing and it making them want to do something with their lives also. People have read my Facebook posts or blogs and told me that it helped them or that they shared it with their friend because they thought that was what they needed to hear. Honestly getting that kind of feedback is worth more to me than any financial gain. The money coming in will just be a bonus and that is how I know I am doing the right thing.
How do you know if you are doing the right thing or the right kind of work? Would you do it for free?
Starting our digitial business has required many hours of work, dedication, learning, making mistakes, overcoming personal doubts and for a while this was without seeing any results. However, we have perservered because we know what we are doing is what we are meant to be doing. We are passionate about our purpose and are committed to helping other people on the same journey. This is what life is about, expanding, growing and becoming more of who you really are.
Please don't settle for mediocre or average. What a shame for the world to not see how great you are and what you are capable of. Each and every single one of us has deep reservoirs of power and talent within, all we have to do is know that, believe that and follow that spark. The rewards cannot be described in words. How you will feel and the excitement for life that you will experience is worth all that hard work. When you experience it for yourself, you can't help but want to share that with others because it feels so good.
Honestly, the way I feel after I write a blog or a Facebook post and the thought that someone might read that and be encouraged or inspired to do something to contribute to the world in a positive way, for me is like electricity. That's my spark that keeps me going.
So what's your spark?
With love and best intentions,
Avalon xoxo
