Nitish Rana, Rohit Sharma, and Kieron Pollard marshaled the run chase leading the Mumbai Indians to six-wicket victory in the 16th Match of the 2017 Indian Premier League at the Wankhede stadium in Mumbai.

Mitch McClenaghan struck early after Mumbai won the toss and inserted the visitors Dwayne Smith cut hard but straight to  Rana act backward point.

Brendon  McCullum and Suresh Raina built an 80 run partnership but needed eleven overs to accomplish that.

The usually fluent and prolific Raina just couldn't get going on the two paced track. He battled through 29 deliveries before he was caught by Rohit of Harbhajan Singh for 28.

McCullum also struggled early but found a groove and accelerated crushing three sixes and six fours in a blistering 44 ball 64.

The Lions gave young Ishan Kishan an opportunity to express himself but he also found the going tough.

Together with Dinesh Karthik, they added 54 with Kishan contributing 14.

Karthik, however, got on a rampage smashing a pair of fours and sixes in an unbeaten 48 from 26, JJ Roy had a cameo scoring 14 from seven as Gujarat closed at 176/7.

The visitors dislodged Parthiv Patel with the second ball of the innings.

Rana and Jos Butler cruised to 85 in nine overs

Rana has been on fire this season he notched his third fifty decorated with four boundaries and two sixes scoring 53 from 36. Butler played the more sedate role with a 24 ball 26.

Pollard and Sharma enjoyed a 68 run partnership the skipper was left not out on 40 while Pollard contributed a 23 ball 39 enabling Mumbai to achieve the win with three balls to spare.

The Rising Pune Supergiants produce a solid all-round performance to beat the Royal Challengers  Bangalore by 27 runs in the 17th match of the 2017 Indian Premier League season at the M Chinnaswamy stadium in Bengaluru

Ajinkya Rahane and Rahul Tripathi put on an excellent opening stand of 63 in seven overs for Pune before Rahane was bowled by  Samuel Badree googly for 30 from 26 balls with five fours.

One over later Tripathi was brilliantly caught by Virat  Kohli for a 23 ball 31 including three fours and a six.

Skipper Steve Smith and MS Dhoni could not duplicate the fluency of the openers, but using their vast experience were still able to add 56 in eight overs.

Then came a collapse of mammoth proportion the Supergiants lost five wickets for three runs crumbling from 127/2 to 130/7.

The main reason the visitors reached a competitive total was Manoj Pandey who came in at number seven and blasted three fours and two sixes in a frenzied 11 ball 27 enabling Pune to reach 161/8.

RCB left out the big hitting Chris Gayle but Shardul Thakur found the edges of both Kohli and Mandeep Singh early but Kohli was dropped. The RCB skipper did not capitalize on his good fortune falling in the sixth over to a Ben Stokes bouncer he edged for 28 with three fours and one six. AB de Villiers was stumped by Dhoni off Imran Tahir for 29.

Four more RCB batsmen reached double figures but none passed 20.

The home team has totally misjudged this newly laid wicket and it has cost them two home games.

Ben Stokes led the bowlers with 3/18 Thakur grabbed 3/35 and Jaydev Unadkat took 2/25 to restrict RCB to 134/9.
