Pune Ends Mumbai Win Streak
The Rising Pune Supergiants put an end to the Mumbai Indians six-game winning streak in the 28th match of the 2017 Indian Premier League at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.The home team skipper Rohit Sharma won the toss and elected field, backing his prolific batsmen to chase any target the Supergiants could pose.

Mumbai in reply lost Jos Butler in the fifth over for 17 with the score on 35/1. Nitish Rana who has been on fire in this year’s tournament tried to pull a David Christian leg cutter got a top edge and Jaydev Unadkat at third man took an excellent running catch. At the end of the next over Parthiv Patel on 33 from 27 including four fours, was clean bowled becoming seventeen-year-old Washington Sundar’s first IPL victim.
Mumbai innings was devoid of significant partnerships, skipper Rohit Sharma tried his best on his own. Batting deep into the innings scoring a classy 58 from 39 balls studded with six fours and three sixes, then in the 20th over with eleven runs needed for the win, tried to hit Unadkat to cow corner got a top edge which ballooned skyward and was caught by the bowler. Harbhajan Singh hit the last ball of the match for six and the home team fell short by three runs.
