5 Ways You Can Achieve More Time Freedom

This guy looks happy in the picture, right? You want that too, hey?

Well, do you ever struggle to make the time in your life to do the things that YOU enjoy doing?

Are you looking to be more productive with your time maybe?

Well, seek no more, seeker!

If you're looking to achieve more time freedom in your life, then this post is exactly for you.

Set Your Intentions For The Day

First thing I do in the morning when I wake up (besides taking a shite) is what I like to call: My Daily Intention Setting.

This is where I write down all the things I need to do for the day on a piece of paper.

Very quick. Very simple.

Mine looks like this:

  • Write this blog post
  • Go for a run
  • Smile at everyone
  • Help a grandma
  • Speed while I'm driving on the road for absolutely no reason
  • Go the shops
  • Work on my business
  • Visit a friend and irritate them
  • Cook supper
  • Read a few pages of Dale Carnegie (which is a brilliant book by the way, highly recommend it if you want to master the art of dealing with people)

So simple, right?!

But, it works.

By setting your intentions for the day and writing them down you will already start gravitating towards doing those things.

Once they are done, you will have more time on your hands to pursue anything else you wish.

By writing them down as well, you will get an idea of how busy your day is going to be and how much time you would need to allocate to doing each activity.

For example, I know helping a grandma with her groceries is going to take way longer than reading a few pages of Dale Carnegie, so I will set aside more time for that in my day.

Grandma is happy. I've been a good person. I've got shit done. Mission accomplished.

Stop Watching So Much Netflix

Netflix is addictive, right? 😏

Trust me, I know - I binge-watched the whole of Bojack Horseman and New Girl in just a few weeks lololol.

It was enjoyable, but it robbed me a lot of my time.

What I personally do now if I want to keep up to date with whatever I am watching at the time, is that I will put on an episode when I am eating supper in the evenings.

I already know I won't be able to do anything else with my hands while eating supper. So why not catch up on some series?

By the end of the episode, I will be finished eating and I will carry on doing the rest of the activities on my daily intention list.

Double win!

Define Where You Want To Be

This is a powerful one.

By deciding where you want to be, you will automatically start removing things from your life which aren’t of any value and consume your time.

I'm going to write that again in Italics just because I can and because it's important:

By deciding where you want to be, you will automatically start removing things from your life which aren’t of any value and consume your time.

Once you've decided where you want to be, list the steps you need to take in order to get there (and actually take action on those steps).

You’ll begin to see that you'll slowly start progressing towards the destination you want to reach.

Here's a great quote by Elbert Hubbard in Dale Carnegie's book that has seriously resonated with me on this topic:

“Whenever you go out-of-doors, draw the chin in, carry the crown of the head high, and fill the lungs to the utmost; drink in the sunshine; greet your friends with a smile, and put soul into every handclasp. Do not fear being misunderstood and do not waste a minute thinking about your enemies. Try to fix firmly in your mind what you would like to do; and then, without veering off direction, you will move straight to the goal. Keep your mind on the great and splendid things you would like to do, and then, as the days go gliding away, you will find yourself unconsciously seizing upon the opportunities that are requiered for the fulfillment of your desire, just as the coral insect takes from the running tide the element it needs. Picture in your mind the able, earnest, useful person you desire to be, and the thought you hold is hourly transforming you into that particular individual... Thought is supreme. Preserve a right mental attitude - the attitude of courage, frankness, and good cheer. To think rightly is to create. All things come through desire and every sincere prayer is answered. We become like that on which our hearts are fixed. Carry your chin in and the crown of your head high. We are Gods in the chrysalis.” - Elbert Hubbard
Deciding where you want to be can be as simple as saying: "I don't want to be in the current situation I'm in", or, "in the next three months I want to be able to quit my job".

Now, list the steps that are going to get you out of your current situation or that's going to allow you to quit your job.

You’ll be surprised how much more free time will start showing up once you start getting focused on where you want to be and listing the steps to get there.

You'll also see that it isn't that hard if you just take it one step at a time.

Don't over complicate things.

We overwhelm ourselves sometimes by thinking too much and too far ahead and end up not doing anything at all because of this.

Define where you want to be, list the steps to get there, and then take action (you're welcome).

Workout Daily

This might seem like a weird one.

You’re probably thinking: “Damn Reeve, how many steps are on this list??"

Well, I said 5 so calm it πŸ™ƒ πŸ™ƒ πŸ™ƒ

Kidding, you're probably correctly thinking: "how is taking the time to workout going to give me more free time?”.

It’s simple - when you workout, you feel way more productive.

You do not necessarily need to be going to the gym. Five to ten minutes every day is more than enough to start, but I would increase that amount of time every day as you start making working out a daily habit.

For me personally, I just do some basics: squats, push-ups, planks, sit-ups and hip crunches.

Even on the days when I absolutely DO NOT feel like working out, if I just conjure up the strength to do a five-minute workout, afterwards, I feel amazing and refreshed!

There has never been a day where I have worked out and thought afterwards: “damn, I really wish I didn't work out today??”

Quite the opposite, I've always felt extremely grateful that I chose to invest those five minutes towards my own health and the many benefits exercise brings.

So, implement working out every day into your life, and you’ll see how much more free time will be available in your day as your productivity levels increase!

Declutter Your Mind

I’ve spoken about the seven things you could do to declutter your mind and split them into part 1 and part 2.

How will this allow you to achieve more time freedom? Well, you’ll have more mental clarity.

I think people underestimate the power of having mental clarity.

Clarity where you just know what you have to do in order to be the person that you want to be.

Where all of the “noise” is removed inside your mind.

I remember the day that this happened to me. It was just a normal day. I woke up, and I just knew what was important and what was not important anymore.

I cut out the things which were not adding value to my life anymore. I cut out the people who were not adding value to my life anymore. And this is when I truly started becoming the person that I’ve always wanted to be without worrying about what other people think about me.

This, I believe, can only happen once you remove all the noise inside your head, all of the unimportant things, which, in turn, will naturally allow you to start achieving more time freedom, as you slowly start focusing on the things which are truly important to you, and your growth.

Namaste.

Finally

I’d just like to say: you should only be using time as a reference, don’t let it dictate your life.

By implementing the above you will be able to do things on your terms as you will have more control over your day.

Remember, anything that’s a lifestyle change cannot be achieved overnight, so don’t beat yourself up if you struggle to implement these tips into your everyday hustle in the beginning.

It takes time to build successful habits which will ultimately help you to achieve more time freedom.

If you're ultimately looking for a course which will allow you to create more time freedom in your life, so that you stop trading your time for money and instead focus on what you truly enjoy while creating an income, then, I GOTCHU.

What's even more insane is that the training is FREE.

So there's nothing stopping you from checking it out.

That's all for today folks!

I hope this helps and adds value to your life.

Would love to hear what you think in the comments below and please feel free to share this with anyone else you think it might help.

Until next time, stay safe and healthy.
