This is me…

Hello! My name is Tim O’Dwyer. I am from Australia, and I’ve been a professional saxophone player and music teacher for over 25 years.

I’m married to a wonderful woman from Hong Kong, and I work as a middle manager in an arts college in Singapore.

I guess you could say, I try to spend my time doing the things that I love, rather than working in a job that I don’t like. I have been successful at this so far by the way! I have a job that I love, and I get to play music around the world!!

Internet – Game Changer

As an educator, and someone who travels a lot, I’ve realised that not a lot of people know how to use the internet, including my millennial students! I don’t think most people realise the potential of the internet to change their lives.

Yes, most people can see that social media – email, sourcing information, and online shopping has changed our lives. But for everyday people, is there anything else the internet can provide? And if so, what is it, and how does it work?

My goal with this blog is to provide honest information and reflection about how the internet is changing people’s life styles by using and understanding the digital economy. This might be through creating a digital business, affiliate marketing, or building your online or offline brand.

I’m excited about the potential of the internet, and the potential of the digital economy to transform our ideas about work, leisure and society as a whole.

Basically, I think that our society and our education system is still based on ideas that we developed in the 19thand 20thCenturies. Sounds crazy, but I don’t think there is enough information out there about how to use the internet effectively in a growing digital economy!

I truly believe, the internet has the power to change your life if you know how to use it.

I mean, what if we could all do what we wanted to do, and at the same time make enough money to be a part of a modern society? How much positive impact could you have on your children’s lives, your town, on your community, and environment?

What will it mean ‘to work’ in the future? How will we make money?

We are living longer than ever before in the history of human beings. I’m turning 50 soon! What kind of lifestyle do I want to create for myself and my family over the next 3, even 4 decades!?

I hope you find my journey interesting, and what I have to offer helpful, and that it will have a small positive impact on your life!

Thank you for your valuable time.
