Rewrite Your Story - Part 3
Depression: The state of feeling very unhappy and without hope for the future
This is a Blog Series about depression and how to get out of the state. In today's blogs I want to show you, how you according to Abraham (Hicks’s) teachings, can rewrite your story.

Importance of Alignment
In the last blog I wrote about the importance of being in alignment with your inner being. Your feelings are a guiding system, guiding you to go towards your inner being.
Good Feeling Thoughts
To get closer to you inner being you need to find thoughts that makes you feel good because your inner being is always feeling good. This can be hard at first, especially if you have been depressed for a while because you have been used to think in that way you do. But you can't get out of a depression by thinking about depression. The more you think about depression, even if you are thinking you want to get out of it, will only keep you more attached to it. This goes for everything in life; worry, pain, concerns about money, relationship, health etc.
"Whatever you think about you bring about!" - Abraham Hicks
Acceptance
Abraham are not saying that you have to forget. It’s impossible. But they are saying accept 'what is', and instead of not focusing on the bad (which is hard to do) focus on good instead. Nobody goes from depressed to extremely joyful in seconds. You have to find a thought that feels better, than the one you have right now.
Emotional Guidance Scale
Abraham uses an emotional guidance scale to help you go from one level of emotions to the other. The scale is like a spiral you can either go up or down. Half of the spiral is negative the other half positive.

Example
If you are depressed - no. 22 on the scale - you can’t get any further down, but you can get stuck on that level. To avoid that it's very important that you start thinking thoughts that moves you up on the scale. Again you can’t jump from no. 22 to no.1 at once, but you can go up one step at the time.
From depressed to insecurity: “I don’t know how to do this!” to jealousy: “Everyone else has it so easy!” to hatred “I hate them for making my life so hard!” to revenge, anger and so forth.
They are not good feeling thoughts, but they are better than being depressed so keep finding thoughts that move you up the scale. Don’t stay on each level for too long (weeks or months). Find thoughts that move you up and soon you will get in to the positive side of the scale.
How to change your thoughts
In my next blog I will show you what you can do to change your thoughts and go upwards on the emotion scale. If you haven’t already, then click the subscribe button below so you won’t miss it.
