Amway MLM and Self Development

In my days as an Amway Distributor the up lines and leaders promoted self development in the form of books. The first book I started with was " The Magic of Thinking Big" we were encouraged to read each morning and just before going to sleep at night. The link is an animation review of this book.

After reading this book I had a thirst to learn more, the principles intrigued me and I started to study others that had read these books for a number of years. I noticed others attitudes to life, how they had an " I can do it " philosophy, they were composed and relaxed. I also noticed, after reading for just a few months, my own self confidence grew, I learned that action conquered fear. I still feared to be in some situations but I let my positive mind take over, then I took action and sure enough the fears started to dissipate.

My next book was "Think and Grow Rich" this book is so powerfull. Napoleon Hilll, the author spent 20 years interviewing the top 500 most succesful people such as  Andrew Carnegie, Edison, F.W. Woolworth, President Truman and King Gillette. It was Andrew Carnegie that set Mr Hill the challenge to write this book and introduced him to Carnegies fellow succesful friends.

Carnegie led the expansion of the American steel industry in the late 19th century and is often identified as one of the richest people (and richest Americans). He became a leading philanthropist in the United States and in the British Empire. During the last 18 years of his life, he gave away about $350 million to charities, foundations, and universities—almost 90 percent of his fortune. His 1889 article proclaiming "The Gospel of Wealth" called on the rich to use their wealth to improve society, and stimulated a wave of philanthropy.

Carnegie started his working life as a telegrapher thus proving the principles in "Think and Grow Rich" had helped him develop into one of the mist succesful men in the world.
